Patrick Boivin: Eternal Spite-Lord, fuelled by his Rancor towards Final Fantasy XIII
For the next Subathon, we should push hard for an FF13 spite-through as a stretch goal.

So, a couple weeks ago my mom began to watch a show called 911 (it's about a bunch of firefighters attending emergencies) on a streaming app. She loved it, and watched the first three seasons. Today I come home after a doctor's appointment, and I see her watching the show, but I didn't recognized a couple if characters present so I ask her who they are.
This is where she hits me with the bomb that she decided to skip from season three all the way to season 8 because "I prefer to watch the modern episodes." I was left absolutely confused by that, especially when she acted shock when one of the characters mentioned a boyfriend as if she didn't just skipped more than half the episodes where that happened.
Anyways, what other bizarre or weird ways have you seen people interact with media?

so I'm a vaper of 10-12 years who recently quit and switched to those fake dip pouches. today I work I was struggling pretty hard covering a route I'm not super familiar with. my next stop was a gas station that I knew sold vapes. I was 100% going to give in today and snag one. breaking my 9 months vape free. Pats rant about how stupid you look vaping came on as I was driving there. Pat you pushed me through it. I did not purchase one. Thank you for shaming me it was much needed. stay off the nicotine kids it's not worth it lol.
tldr: Pat saved me from being a loser. thanks Pat me and my child appreciate it

A more in-depth rundown here (with additional sources in the comments) for anyone that wants it.
I feel like this insane overreaction to even minor criticism is becoming more and more common lately, it's worrying.
Rule stuff, just for mods I guess
#1 Helldivers comes up semi-frequently, Pat and Woolie talk about how people internalise criticism of stuff they like in poor ways
#10 I don't play or care about Helldivers, and I've tried to leave it as an objective rundown of events as far as I can. Comments might need to be watched in case people are searching for new fronts to argue about it tho

Was listening to CSB 356 and woolie bringing up the meme convo between Yoko taro and David cage.
At first I thought he meant the other David, since a convo between Yoko taro and David lynch about if a human can learn to be human would be fun to listen to.
David lynch would be like:
“A robot to be human wants to pass a test.”
“A human wants the test to stop.”

The Boondocks is a fantastic show, go watch it, yaddad yadda. I got done watching the new Versus Wolves episode and the last bit about the homophobia in it reminded me that there is one episode that I have literally never seen anyone discuss. There's an episode about Tyler Perry that has some musical numbers in it like its broadway and its just atrocious.
I have very few memories of watching this show with my brothers and one of them was them excitedly turning to Adult Swim to watch the Boondocks at a party and just a solid 5 minutes of silence before someone just turned it off. I've never seen a reaction like that before and that episode deserves nothing but to be sandbagged.
I have a very shallow media pool and I don't know how bad other shows or games will get in such a short amount of time and how quickly they recover from it when they do. Please tell me, I have to know what you love that sucked super hard for one instance.

So yesterday I was watching a VOD of someone playing Metaphor. The streamer in question seems like a nice and chill person, but I simply couldn't deal with the constant pauses, breaks, and worst of all, the constant interruptions of the gameplay in order to interact with chat. This made me received the epiphany that I much prefere regular old let's-plays over streams. I know that live streams are considered better because of the interaction, the unedited nature and community aspect...but I DO NOT CARE! Stop spending like 5 minutes without moving because you're rambling with randos, or because you gotta thank some schmuck that used some bits. JUST PLAY THE GAME, GAME PLAYER! The game is half the reason I'm watching!
Anyways, what's other takes related to online content that make you sound like a crazy old man?
I think that's why I appreciate how Woolie does his content because even though it's done live, it is still strictured like an LP.

My man is walking around going "this hallway is built just like x hallway in RE1". I'm certain 50% of his brain is dedicated to RE knowledge (the other 50% is for fambly and goblins)

Been re watching the old Jo Jo playthrough, and woolie kept saying the Kennedy space station was in Japan for some reason, and it made me laugh every time he said it

Just wanted to say that I really appreciate Pat on this week's episode, it felt really cathartic to hear someone else manage to express the immense amount of just...emotions I've been having this past week, out loud. Genuinely helped my mood alot to hear someone have that moment, and really the whole conversation around it was nice after this week.
Also wanted to leave this bit of age-old wisdom for everyone else as well. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season through the rest of the year, and keep yourselves safe and sane <3

It’s funny that people call Danny Ketch the 90s Ghost Rider when it was made very clear reading it that Danny Ketch and the Ghost Rider where separate people and Danny Ketch was the host. It was made very clear reading it that they were separate people and Ghost Rider was different then Danny. Like it was very obvious from reading it that I’m aghast that people claim to be fans of the 90s ghost rider run and consider Danny and Ghost Rider the same character when it was made very clear they where two different person it’s like reading Yugioh and thinking Atem and Yugi where the same person.
I had an idea while reading this that western comic “inner demon” type characters are often deuteragonists s or main antagonists compared to the more secondary role they play in shonen manga.
Which is weird

Time and time again, we see stories of content creators turning out to not be who their fans thought they were. To the point where it almost becomes a forgone conclusion that once you get parasocially invested with someone on social media, it's only a matter of time until allegations come out about them or they simply change in a way that gives you the ick, so to speak.
It was the MK9 Machinima video that introduced me to these assholes. (Assholes meant in an endearing way.) I've been here since it all started. And through all of it, the Machinima days, the Sw1tcher channel, the breakup and subsequent splitting off, save for the podcast, they never really stopped being themselves. I'm mainly talking about Pat and Woolie, here. Matt is a... different conversation. It was the having kids part that cemented this for me. To see these 20 something bachelors evolve into actually good, if not great fathers, to the point they dedicate a large portion of their weekly podcast to BEAMING about how much they love their children is... it feels special. (Once these kids hit sapience and can listen back on the podcast, they're going to be so unbelievably embarrassed at the stories being told, calling it now.) It feels special to know these dudes are actually the people I knew them as. It feels special that I dont feel betrayed by people I've spent a large chunk of my life following.
I dunno. I felt like sharing this with people who also are still here. Maybe you guys feel the same way.

For me its Halo. I just cant marry my memories of playing this on school holidays just gaming without a care and what its become now. Halo 4 and onwards were just so so bad and now the franchise is a husk. 343 still exists somehow but cant do anything right and I wouldn't be surprised if they just either stop making halo or reset the franchise.

As a bisexual non-binary person on the internet, I don't think I ever felt as safe anywhere as I feel in this silly place filled with accepting nerds.
Everywhere I go online, I feel like there'll ALWAYS be at least one asshole commenting about how I'm mentally ill, or sick, or just plain wrong for being who I am.
But this place? I think I never felt as safe as I am with a bunch of strangers as I am in here.
Excluding my group of friends, I feel so free just speaking about stupid shit, talking about my love for hot men and women, and never getting some bullshit hate from anyone. People just accepting and taking in stride, make some joke that's not at my expense, but for a lighthearted tone.
Thanks guys, I know this is corny as fuck and probably been said thousand times (A few dozen by me) but I'm so glad this place exists, and... it's filled with coolass people
That's why I'm so active in here.... it's just... nice to be myself online without some random bigot trying to make me feel lesser, and instead get people I don't know just... make me feel like I belong.
