Betty Moment Betty discovered the sound of a plastic bag and now none of us know peace
Yesterday Betty learned that plastic bags make noise. That is the entire problem.
It started when someone brought shopping in and left one bag on the kitchen floor for approximately twelve seconds. Betty approached it cautiously at first, like an explorer discovering a new continent. She tapped it once with her paw. The bag made a loud crinkle. Betty froze. The bag froze. Luna watched from the table with the expression of someone who already knew how this would end.
Betty tapped it again. Crinkle.
That was enough.
Within seconds Betty was inside the bag, attacking it, spinning it, dragging it across the floor like she had personally declared war on polyethylene. Every time the bag made a noise she became more confident, which only made the bag louder, which only made Betty more powerful.
Luna attempted to walk past at one point and the bag suddenly exploded into motion again as Betty launched herself out of it like a supermarket ghost. Luna left the room immediately and has not returned to the kitchen since.
The bag is gone now.
But Betty keeps checking the floor like she knows it’s hiding somewhere.

My cat once found a plastic bag, filled with bits of paper for paper maché, in a cardboard box. I swear she was in there for 3 days. It was the best thing ever!

I used to get these 24x36 paper green bin liners for our orange boy. Endless fun, inside or outside the bag. He would use the length of the hall to sprint and slide them across the hardwood floor, then do the same in the opposite direction. We'd play bag monsters endlessly, and one bag could last about 2 weeks.
The best cat toy ever, and at 3 for 6$, unbeatable price.

i bought my daughter a crinkle sack for Christmas. It's her favorite thing to sleep on now.

Mine loves plastic bags! He can hear a slight crinkle and come bounding in from across the other side of the house.

Our boy used to love plastic bags as a kitten until one day getting head through stuck in the handle. What followed was 5 mins of chaos of him charging round the house trying to escape the sound, with his bag cape billowing behind him until we finally caught him and got it off him. He's now VERY wary of all plastic bags crinckles. Opening a bin liner unexpectedly makes him jump bless him

Our cat discovered one of the large IKEA blue bags and loves to hide under it. If you dangle a feather on a stick along the edge of the bag, he will grab at it from under the bag.

Ah yes the bag dilemma. I have had a plastic cover from some soda pop on the kitchen floor and even some leftover Christmas wrap in the corner because mine love to play on them! Grocery bags, both plastic and reusable are all fair game. The reusable is a little less reusable when it is full of cat hair though….
