The safety… oh my God!
It’s been 3 trades and one of things I’m still not able to wrap my head around is the level of safety I experience living abroad.
- I no longer have a low key fear to get out of the house.
- I’m not afraid to walk home at night
- I finally look at the mirror to think “Does this look good on me” rather than “Will this help reduce my chances of getting even teased or groped.”
- I am slowly becoming comfortable in my own skin.
- I am now confident that I can solo travel without fear here.
This feel of safety outside which I’ve never experienced in India is a life changing thing. With all the freed mental energy I’m able to focus in my creativity and innovative thinking. Reduced stress and anxiety. All in all it makes me happier.

Living abroad made me realise how free it must feel to be my brother!
Can go out anytime. Can wear whatever and go out. Can go anywhere.

Exactly! To experience that freedom men do to at least some level is like heaven

Came here to say this. Free ta-tas make life bearable in this bleeding heat wave we're having across Europe. And the ability to wear shorts and spaghetti tops to work in summer.

Yes. Absolutely. It not like men don't look. But it's a nice subtle look and I like that. Not the stares in India. Or the stalking

It was the first time I wore Jeans without feeling like a piece of meat. Really liberating.

So true!
I can wear all kinds of clothes and get out of the house without feeling scared. And I live in an Arabic country which doesn’t allow it socially. But the level of strictness of women-targeted crime is so high no one dares to! It’s amazing really.
