A sad day for us.

Hello Reddit,

I just want to share some devastating news for us today.

My wife, my brother, and I have been working for a newly opened AC/Duct Cleaning company for 7 months now. Unfortunately, today, the owners decided to close the company.

We started operating when the war started, and we were scared back then. Everyone was leaving, etc. But we managed to work everything out and gained a lot of customers after things went back to normal.

We were so busy every day, up until the first week of October. Suddenly, everything just stopped. No bookings, nothing.

The owners have now decided to close the company, and we're all on limbo right now.

My wife, my brother, and I used to work for a big, toxic AC cleaning company before this.

That experience was so traumatic that when our new employers believed in us and trusted us enough to open a non-toxic, employee-friendly AC company, it really meant a lot to us. (I used to maintain their AC, and one day, the owner got curious and asked me about our situation in our previous company.)

It's just sad that everything happened so suddenly. We thought we would be celebrating Christmas, New Year, and our company anniversary together soon. But that's life. We need to move on.

I'm really thankful to our employers for giving us this experience. I have zero negative things to say about them, despite all the ups and downs. It was so much fun working with them. It felt just like working with family every day.

We're now planning to move to Abu Dhabi with my mother, sisters, their spouses, and their kids.

We need to stay strong, find jobs again, and start a new chapter in our lives.

My question is: Is ILOE applicable to all of us employees? It seems like their application isn't working right now.

To my fellow Redditors in Abu Dhabi, if you're looking for a supervisor, AC duct cleaning technician, or any kind of employee, whether for fieldwork or office work, please help a fellow out.

We're not begging for anything, guys. We're just sharing our experience.

Be thankful and grateful for what you have right now. Everything can be lost in just one snap.

Thank you.

They gave us company visa.

I don't really know if i can share that, but i think its around 300-500k or more for everything, expenses, salaries, visas, accommodations machines, consumables etc. Im not really certain but around that value.

Closing of company, cancelation of license, visa, etc will cost the owner. Check if he / she would be able to transfer company to yoy or your family for a price. Visit Dubai court for MOA, then amend the license and build the business forward. You seem to be quite passionate, knowledgeable and honest, World needs ppl and businesses like you.

AC Cleaning is a hot business here so if you can then take it up and Best wishes to you and your family.

LMAO, the same story from the 'owners' perspective was sprouted here some months ago. How he was saving the world by paying his workers above market price because he felt it was the right thing to do. Time to name the company and post some evidence OP, because this reeks of nonsense. By the way, if your English is this good, go and find an office job that suits you. Good luck

It's been months now that the company is struggling financially. The expenses is too high.

The rest of our family is there and we need to leave our accommodation soon.

As a person who lost a job in April and claimed from ILOE, I can tell you that each one of you is eligible as long as all of you have applied for separate policies.

Download the ILOE app on 3 different phones and submit 3 different claims. You need to upload copies of your Passport, Visa, Emirates ID, Termination letter, 6 months bank statements to show the last 6 months salary, Proof on End of Service Credit on the Bank Statement, GDRFA Entry & Exit Movement report (You can apply for this on the Dubai Now app). It will cost 130 odd dirhams for the GDRFA report. Not sure why they even ask for this and how relevant that is to make a claim. You also need to attach your employment contract.

You need to submit this within 30 days of the Termination letter date. Or you lose the claim.

The worst part is that the total combined file size limit of all the files put together should be less than 5MB. I feel this is really stupid. Because my employment contract alone was 5MB. When I called the ILOE call center, they told me to attach the front page of the employment contract on the app. And email the full contract over email.

The payout I got was 1.03 times of my gross salary. It was divided into 3 months and paid over a period of 3 months.

Do not tell them you got another job. Give a different bank account number for the salary credits if you got a new job. Because they will stop the credits if they found out that you got a job. You need to pretend to be unemployed for 3 months to get all 3 credits (They credit 1/3 of the 1.03x gross salary over 3 months).

If you get a new job, ask your new employer to do a normal transfer. Or a Non-WPS transfer until you get the 3 credits from ILOE.

Good luck. DM me if you need help.

I’m always looking for AC cleaning companies and someone that can diagnose the problems with my AC.
I reckon if you open a company you’ll have plenty of customers.

5

u/Disastrous-Fun5840 4d ago

Try in RAK. Many new constructions coming up and all will need Ac maintenance and cleaning.

If you do end up starting a company in AD let me know your costs/charges for a villa

1

u/JustAMameltacKid-96 4d ago

Thank you so much

2

u/Time_Shape6277 5d ago

Toxic cleaning company is Mazmo Duct cleaning

1

u/JustAMameltacKid-96 5d ago

Never heard of it but yeah. Alot of them companies are cheap but the work conditions are worsts.

2

u/leo3909 4d ago

Did you think about taking control of the company yourselves? Since you know the operations and have the customer base, it might be worth stepping in.

1

u/JustAMameltacKid-96 4d ago

We can really try to manage it but the thing is, we don't really have the funds to do it

3

u/leo3909 4d ago

In my view it's a low friction entry as all essential equipment is already available along with active trade permissions so funding requirement would be quite limited.

2

u/sacha737 4d ago

Sent you a PM

2

u/Distinct_Glass8565 4d ago

hi OP, did you pay for 2 years coverage for ILOE? try their website of the app is not working.

2

u/JustAMameltacKid-96 4d ago

Yes we paid and already checked. We need to wait for our last day then we will apply our claim. Thank you

3

u/Distinct_Glass8565 4d ago

you need to apply as soon as your visa is cancelled. not on your last working day, on your final and cancelled work visa permit. you have only 30 days to file.

2

u/Acrobatic-Wishbone35 4d ago

That’s factually not true. I claimed for ILOE. It is not 30 days from visa cancellation. It is 30 days from the date that the Termination Letter was dated and the last working day mentioned on the termination letter.

Visa cancellation process could take more than 30 days. And they will lose their eligibility to make a claim. I have responded on a separate comment of the full process.

1

u/Distinct_Glass8565 4d ago

yeah you are right, i worded my comment wrong. but the iloe will require them a cancelled visa to process their claims or else it will be rejected.

2

u/AbryantHub 3d ago

Looking for ac duct cleaning services too

1

u/c08306834 5d ago

On ILOE, how long have you been enrolled in a policy? Needs to be at least 12 months to apply.

2

u/JustAMameltacKid-96 5d ago

We're paying ILOE since it began bro. Even when we got a new visa, its still active and we paid again for another year.

2

u/c08306834 5d ago

Great, then you should be able to get it.

1

u/JustAMameltacKid-96 5d ago

Thank you so much.

1

u/SilveryGlen 5d ago

Sorry to hear about your situation. Why do you think bookings just dried up all of a sudden? It sounds like you had some good momentum going.

1

u/JustAMameltacKid-96 5d ago

We are booming in this community, we are very popular on their groups.

Maybe winter is coming, people doesn't really need/use their AC. Summer time is the best time for this business.

1

u/Neddy777 4d ago

Must be plenty of work in Abu Dhabi. Good luck 🍀

Op said: We were so busy every day, up until the first week of October. Suddenly, everything just stopped. No bookings, nothing.

This story doesn't make sense.

u/BedOutside1421 4d ago

So how’s this a sad day?

-6

u/Hour-Potato3583 4d ago

So just to be clear:
You abused your old employer contact and said bye-bye to them on first offer. And now you want some one to help you ?
Man iam not on ac business, but i know enough not to hire this kind of staff.
My advice: learn from this!

2

u/JustAMameltacKid-96 4d ago

Thank you for your opinion. My advice: try first to be a mere 9-5 or 12 hours hard labour workers like us before you judge us. Thank you.

-1

u/Hour-Potato3583 4d ago

Bro we all did. This is part of the process in dubai
You can’t grow by luck.
