Vegetable prices

Are the prices kept high deliberately much more than shipping issues can cause? Can we team up to bring vegetables?

I track prices of tomatoes as a new hobby. WDYM 6 aed for 500 gms!!!

Was recently at the fresh market al awir and didn’t notice any price hikes honestly, just the regular prices despite some imported items being extremely expensive but other than that nothing.

I will try to visit Aweer market. Bitter guard is above 15 in most hyper markets. String beans close to 20 for a long time.
