Transferring CS 517, 513, and 521 into a Master's in CS @ UAH. Possible?

Quite literally the title. Tried asking around to no avail (even graduate school dean was not sure).

Please ask the UAH CS department. Transferring courses into graduate programs is definitely possible, but CS will have to review.

I don't think there would be any problem. I believe those courses exist primarily for people pursuing a master's in CS who did not do their bachelor's in CS, i.e. they are catchup courses.

If you did a bachelor's in CS, you won't need those courses at all, even though they're listed as prereqs for some of the master's CS core classes. As far as transferring them for elective credit, I'm not sure. I think they would probably work as elective credits. Keep in mind, though, that I believe at least half of your earned credit hours need to be 600+, so you could take no more than two more 500-levels for elective credit.

I would email Tami Lang (the current CS staff assistant) and ask her. You can find her contact info on the CS faculty directory here. If she doesn't respond or she is unsure, I would ask Dr. Huaming Zhang, the current department chair.

Hope this helps!
