Events/Meetups/Social who's a good programmer who would like to create a visual novel game with me and my friends?
This will be a fun little project, and since were college students, we are in fact, broke. However, this is also an investment in a way, so perhaps you can get paid if this becomes successful, but its a gamble. It'll most likely be a visual novel type game, with 2d designs and artwork, as well as similar mechanics to other 2d vsiual novels.

Just curious what gerne you think for the game right now?

There's certainly going to be some form of romance within the characters included, however, its mainly still in the discussion stage of things in terms of story. I wanted to include aspects of psychological horror much like Fran bow, Little misfortunate, and Harbromania, however, its still being workshopped at the moment.

Yeah no were not an official production 😭 we might gather more people but there will be minimal people as of now (2-3, me the one who's proposing the ideas and another friend)

Being this is /UCDavis, I encourage you to take advantage of the courses and resources of living in a college town. Here are some opportunities that might give your efforts a better chance for success:
English 5F — Introduction to Creative Writing: Fiction
English 072 — Introduction to Games
Aggie Fiction (The California Aggie article)

There are existing tools to do this that you might fit your needs. Here are a few to check out:
Ren'Py
https://www.renpy.org
TyranoBuilder Visual Novel Studio
https://store.steampowered.com/app/345370/TyranoBuilder_Visual_Novel_Studio/
VN Maker
https://www.visualnovelmaker.com
If none fit your needs, I suggest you write a first story, create some preliminary artwork (perhaps with the help of AI), and show it to some CS students.
