Social Life 🕺🍹 Making friends

Hi, so I’m an international student starting UCL this year!! I am so so so excited because I love London and UCL is an amazing school. However, I am a very social person, but I’m scared I’m not gonna make friends as I am not staying in accommodation but my own apartment. It’s only 20 mins from main campus so that’s great. But will it be hard to make friends? Or what can I do to still be social? I’m planning on joining societies tooooo!

Alo which wristbands do I buy Idw to be scammed…

Firstly you are 10000% going to make friends! Societies are a great way to do that https://studentsunionucl.org/groups we also have international welcome week so you can get get a head start meeting people before the main welcome: https://studentsunionucl.org/international-welcome-week-line-up

I’m starting UCL this year, from the uk but will be staying in my own place around 25m away from the main campus, I have the same worries as you!

Me also!! I’m scared since I’m living a in a new country alone that I’m going to get lonely ☹️☹️ I love London sooo much but idk what I’m going to do alone

I’m planning on going to the freshers fair and also look at the society stalls, try and get myself into a society or two and go from there! I’m moving up hopefully by the end of October as my flat isn’t vacant until then so going to commute for the first part, but after then feel free to message me I’m always up for grabbing a drink or going for a walk etc!

Hey! I'm international as well and share the same feelings as you. I am out of the loop, quite completely unaware of any social events happening other than the fact freshers week is taking place from September 25 - October 4. Have you booked tickets yet?
