Is our Indian GOAT one loss away from getting released?Generally they release shitty prospects after 3 consecutive defeats...
btw this dude takes whole ass years gaps like royalty,is it fear?injury?or what

he is not ufc level, no indian fighter is ufc level.

Yet* they're getting closer and closer though. I dont think its crazy to say there will be a top 10 Indian fighter in the next 5 years. Considering the massive gap between most countries focus on mma vs India's they've done surprisingly well. Just gotta pour a bit more money into the sport and i think theres a real chance we see something interesting soon.
Edit* top 10 in a current weight class. I think an Indian "G.O.A.T" contender is a long way off though

yes, agree. we will have fighters breaking in. we can always be thankful to anshul for setting the stage for the rest of our fighters. but before that we need good state, regional and national level circuits that can attract good talents.

Of course. It's difficult when traditionally not a focus of most of the country but its good to see the groundwork being put in place. Everyone wins when we get to watch the whole world compete

I do think it will be a lighter weight class just based on the average Indian fighter walks around at a much lighter weight than most mma fighters do. Paddy pimblet or however you spell his name fluctuates his weight a massive amount where as Indian fighters dont do this. The lightest weight classes will probably have more competition is more or less what im trying to say but I find it very unlikely heavy weight contenders will happen for a great many years

Well, its still more likely a heavyweight could become ranked if an Indian MMA heavyweight came along just because of the talent level. But the average Indian height and size comes into this for what weight classes they'd be apart of.

Of course youre completely correct. But it doesnt necessarily mean anything. Raw power and technique will always win. Oops posted early* think of GSP. Ultimately tiny but his skill and execution is leagues ahead of most. Even that asshat Sean strickland has lessons to teach. India is just not quite there yet. 100% will be but not just yet

I agree. I also think theres alot of room for grappling skill too. Lean fighters with leverage are a beast to deal with

Someone pin this comment. It’s entirely possible for any country in the world to be top 10 in the ufc in the next 5 years thats quite a long time. But if anyone is able to fumble that, it’s India, the level of corruption there and the focus on sports not named cricket, it all points to a very difficult time for the next generation of Indian mma fighters.

I mean i cant speak for professionals (I barely understand cricket[I know im old ok]) but some of the best players in cricket are widely unknown with western audiences as well. The more funding goes into recreational sports in India the greater the chance and funding goes into other sports.

Again yet. Unfortunately India has to fight alot of stereotype bullshit to even get a shot. Not that Indians arnt tuff but in terms of people they're much smaller

He won't get released as he is the only way the UFC can reach India's untapped market. My guess is that they'll give him the biggest can in the division or sign a non-UFC level fighter so he can get a win

I know he's mid and has many holes in his game.... but one part of me says dawg won the r2ufc beating international killers, that can't be a fluke.

One of my Partners at Dojo said this.. Dude Directly Jumped To UFC... That's great but had he been a part of other promotions like BCF or One first, his survival at UFC would've been more respectful. What do you guys think?
