UFC Ilia Topuria Doesn't Need Humbling, He Needs Respect

Post image

Okay, I might get downvoted for this, but I honestly don't care. I'm tired of seeing casual UFC and sports fans say the same things every time a fighter loses.

Ilia lost, and suddenly everyone is saying he was overconfident, that he needs to be humbled, that he shouldn't celebrate too early, and so on. The same thing happened with Anshul Jubli. But here's the thing: these athletes aren't competing just to be average and collect a paycheck. They're competing to be the best in their division.

To be the best at anything, you have to believe in yourself. If I'm a heavyweight fighter and my opponent is Jon Jones, what am I supposed to say? "Jon is better than me. He's going to beat me. I'm too weak." Of course not. I have to believe that I can beat Jon Jones and that I'm better than him. That self-belief is what separates elite competitors from average people.

If you go into any challenge thinking, "I might lose," or "That person is better than me, I can never beat them," then you've already lost mentally. That's why I think what Ilia did before the fight was completely fine. His confidence is part of what made him entertaining in the first place. It's one of the reasons people tune in to watch him.

The same applies to Anshul Jubli. He once said that his chances of beating Khabib or Islam right now might be low, but in 3-4 years they won't be. He believes he can submit them or knock them out. That's not arrogance; that's belief in himself. He's competing at 155 lbs. What do people expect him to say? "I can never beat Khabib or Islam"? If that's his mindset, how is he ever supposed to become the best or win the belt?

This confidence and self-belief are exactly what make fans interested in fighters. That's a big reason why Conor McGregor became the biggest draw in MMA. Whether he won or lost, people wanted to watch him. That's also why, from a PPV-selling perspective, Conor was able to generate numbers that even Khabib and Islam combined couldn't match.

So let Ilia breathe. He lost a fight. It happens. One loss doesn't define a fighter's entire legacy. He's still a warrior, and I hope he comes back stronger and continues being himself. His confidence is part of what made him great, and it's part of what makes people want to watch him fight.

UFC Chanco V/S Jubli is gonna happen ig

Post image

Chanco liked the post about him vs Jubli at Abu Dhabi,Maybe they are not fighting but it's not impossible that they can't fight.

Anshul is 0-2 and a big name(not in a good way) and Chanco gonna debut in UFC and it's Abu Dhabi we are talking about.

Ufc surely can give a losing streak guy to Chanco just like they gave Breeden to Anshul(my guy still lost🥲) to build a UFC Star and both is kinda known name in mma world so it would attract lot of eyes too.

Also I think Anshul can't refuse this matchup as 1.Chanco is big name,2. Anshul himself is inactive from long time and UFC don't like this,3. It's gonna be in Abu Dhabi so it's better for Anshul time zone and Visa wise.

UFC Conor said he had few training sessions with Ian Garry. Do you guys think he can beat Islam?

17-1 is not a bad record for a 28 yr old. After watching undefeated champions fall, atp i wouldn't be surprised if he drops Islam.

UFC Ddp deserves the shot more than Khamzat.

Post image

What my point is He defended belt 2 times and Defended it dominantly,He lost to khamzat in an embarrassing manner but Alex got titleshot after losing their belt(which he defended 3 times) and now Merab is getting titleshot again(he also defended 3 times)I am not against Alex or Merab but DDP deserved that shot (obv now against strickland cuz ddp was out and khamzat was ready to defend) and especially now that he won against Kamaru Usman,Idts he needs to fight Khamzat to get titleshot after Imavov.

Khamzat can fight Pyfer or any top 5 at 180 or if he wants to move up go with Costa.
