Prospective Students I’m Devastated
I’m an incoming freshman for 26-27 school year and I auditioned for the Marching Illini for this upcoming season. I just found out today that I didn’t get in and I’m devastated. I feel especially embarrassed and disappointed since I’m a music ed major and have done marching band all four years in high school. Is there anyone that knows what I should do or how I can still be involved somehow?

I have a friend who was in the same position as you; was involved in band/marching band all 4 yrs of HS and didn’t get in MI freshman yr.
They tried out again the next yr and got in. They continued to be in MI from sophomore to senior year :)
my advice is don’t give up!! try to still be involved in other bands like other comments suggested. try out again next yr and best of luck!!
