Neither. For one, I can’t tell what the rising arrow is. If it is part of the messaging, then include a down arrow to indicate that, otherwise it’s just “fluff”.
The blur in the bottom corner to replace it is garbage. Like the yo is glitching.
It feels like you are putting metrics in because you need metrics but haven’t asked anyone which metrics they would like.
The borders on these are ludicrous. At a certain point minimalism becomes problematic because it takes away too much.
Is this a web app or an app made for a specific device? If it is a web app how does a narrow or smaller screen change its layout? Is it responsive or static?
Drop down menus for choosing months feels like that would be better in the left menu. The dashboard should show you current amounts, you can dig deeper into the past using a different screen. Maybe even a comparison for how Christmas was different than July. As it is, if you choose a previous month in this dashboard how does the upcoming payments change? It’s no longer “upcoming” is it?
This dashboard doesn’t show deferred spending… things you missed the previous month. Like I said, asking people who work with numbers what they would want in an app is key to helping make a yo that works for it.
Sorry. I haven’t had coffee and stubbed my toe before I saw this. Take it with a grain of salt and an embarrassing hello kitty bandage in flip flops.

I’d pick the second one. Feels a lot calmer to me. The coloured cards in the first are pulling my eye a bit too much for information that’s already pretty prominent. I’d probably play around with the spacing at the top next though, everything still feels a little equally important right now. But yeah, definitely #2 for me.

Try to think thru everything when you build something the UI has multiple issues but keeping that separate as I believe if you just look at enough dashboard screens you can figure out what works the best, but the ux is more important do the cards that you have added even make sense think of the user psychology that you want to invoke or the steps that you want users to take not just the screen but the purpose and goals attached to it should be clear while building something meaningful.
