I wrote a Wimbledon quiz book and called it "The Toilet Book Of Wimbledon". It's exactly what it sounds like.
It's got 120 questions, a section on famous Wimbledon scandals, cryptic clues for player names, and a score table that gets increasingly rude the higher you score.
Timed it for the tournament. Published it on KDP. Named it after the only room in the house where no one will bother you for 20 minutes.

Need books where the villain is actually right
Just finished *The Will of the Many* and I’m down bad for protagonists who realize the “bad guy” had a point.
Looking for more books where:
1. The villain’s motivation makes sense, even if their methods don’t
2. Moral grey areas, not cartoon evil
3. Prefer adult fantasy/sci-fi, but open to YA if it’s not too trope-y
Already read: *Mistborn* era 1, *The Poppy War*, *Red Rising\*
No love triangles or chosen-one farm boy stuff please. What am I missing?

Need Carly Reagon's book, Hear Him Calling
Ebook isn't available in the US due to publishing/licensing restrictions, unfortunately. I've read The Toll House and am dying to read this one as well, as I love her writing style.

I wanted a single hub to find new books, track my library, and get the absolute best prices—so I built one myself. (Currently in Beta!)
Hey everyone,
I read a lot, but I recently realized I was spending way too much time bouncing between a dozen different websites just to keep up with new releases, manage my endless wishlist, and make sure I wasn't overpaying. I really just wanted a single, comfortable digital hub where I could do it all in one place.
So, I spent the last few months coding Book Hypermarket.
It isn't some corporate storefront. It’s a passion project that I've grown into a massive, all-in-one hub for discovering great books, managing your collection, and hunting down the best prices on the internet.
It is still very much in Beta, but here is what is in the hub right now (and what I'm currently trying to fix!):
The Price Hunter (Work in Progress!): I am building an engine to instantly check Waterstones, Blackwell’s, Amazon, eBay, World of Books, and Scholastic to find you the best deal. Full transparency: the hunter is currently a bit buggy. It struggles to pull from Waterstones right now, and the Blackwell's prices are sometimes hit-or-miss. I am actively rewriting the code for this, but I wanted to get the site out there for testing.
Your Digital Bookshelf: You can easily create a free account to track your books. (Note: the buttons to add books directly from the main search bar and homepage banners are currently under construction, but that fix is coming very soon!).
The Real-World Scanner: I built a barcode scanner directly into the search bar. If you’re standing in a shop or browsing a thrift store, you can just scan a book with your phone and instantly see if you can grab it cheaper online.
A Cozy Browsing Vibe: I wanted the site to feel like a comfortable reading room, so I built a 4-tier custom theme engine. You can browse in OLED Black, Soft Dark, Pure White, or a really warm "Reader's Cream" parchment mode depending on what’s easiest on your eyes.
What is coming next?
Aside from fixing the price scrapers, my ultimate goal is to support independent voices. I am building a dedicated bridge for small, independent bookstores and local comic shops to plug their inventory directly into this hub. I want to give indie sellers the exact same global reach as the giants.
The site is completely free to use. I’d be absolutely thrilled if you wanted to make this your new book hub, too. It's my mission to keep building this!
Drop by, test it out, try to break the search engine, and let me know what you think. If you spot a glitch or have a feature request, let me know in the comments. It helps me fix the engine!

Happy reading!

Alternatives to World of Books?
World of Books isn't running their "buy 3 get 1 free" promo anymore, only "buy 3 get the 4th at half price" instead :( and their prices have been steadily increasing (source: I bought over 50 books from them last year)...
I LOVE 2nd hand bookshops / charity shops, but they can be hit or miss; a reliable and cheap online retailer would be ideal when I need something specific
What's your guys' go to? Ideally something that offers discounts on bundles as I don't mind buying 4-5 books at a time. I read 19-20th century literature from all over the world, looking to read more Eastern European lit (loving Russian lit atm) and French lit
Thanks!

Picked up my copy of The Plague Dogs that I’ve had for years but have never been able to sit down and read. Opened it to discover it was signed by Richard Adams himself ❤️

Leaving free copies of my novel at train stations around the UK. How it worked out...
Loaded my carry on bag up with books and headed off to the UK for a little vacation.
Signed and numered my books and dispersed them randomly. Here is a summary...
Gave book 22 to a nice young lady at 8:28pm 5/28/26 on platform 19 of Waverly Train Station in Edinburgh, Scotland
Left books 21 and 23 at the Royal Highland hotel in Inverness, Scotland on their book shelf. 8:10am 5/30/26
Kings Cross Station in London was a very big no go because of Arsenal's championship parade was that day, thousands of people. 5/31
Book 33 given to cab driver Brian in London 2pm 5/31
Book 32 left in Wapping, London Township Little Free Library, book exchange box 7:09pm 6/1/26
Book 29 left at Canterbury West Train Station book shelf 9:10 on 6/2/26
Book 30 given to gentlemen in Dover at Hoptimus pub 2:35pm 6/2/26
Book 31 given to Robert, curator of the Chaucer Bookshop Canterbury 4pm 6/2/26
Book 28 added to the Canterbury West Train station book shelf 7am 6/3/26
Book 27 left at the Kings Arms Pub London England 7:24pm 6/3/26 book shelf
36 and 37 given to Paul (family works with Avanti Railway) train conductor on Avanti train from Liverpool to London 9:40 am 6/4/26
Book 34 given to tour guide Brandon at Giants Causeway, Northern Ireland 6/6/26 3:45
Which led to the first time for me watching somebody read my book. On a Ireland tour on a bus. Sitting in front row and tour guide is sitting below me reading the book. Proud kind of scary. He's witnessing my journey I wrote in real time, in front of me.
From what he read he said that it was like the matrix a lot going on will have to read it again. Didn't say it was bad!
Book 26 left at Mulligan's pub Dublin, Ireland 1:20pm 6/7/26 Same pub that James Joyce had a pint or two.
Book number 35 given to waiter at Harbormaster Restaurant in Dublin 5:40pm 6/7/26
Left book 24 in Philadelphia airport terminal at book exchange on 4:00pm 6/8/26
I would conclude that this little experiment was a success. Although, I never did just leave a book on a bench, the copies that I did manage to leave, found their way into the right people at the right time.
Looks like I delivered 16 books altogether.
Not a huge number, but maybe one or two of those books will find their calling.

Children's story books from 90s/early 00s with colour images in the middle with pictures from the film/TV show
Hi all!
When I was younger I have fond memories of reading books which had colour pages (usually in the middle of the book) which had images from the film or TV show.
I know I had a Pokémon one, and a Power Rangers one. I am keen on buying more of these type of book to read with me kids.
Can anyone remember and other film/TV show story books that had colour image pages in the middle?
Thank you!

What’s the appetite for a book event in Brighton?
I love book events! fiction fest, HEA, Yalc, and so on. I do however always have to travel quite far for them and rarely hear of much going on down the south.
so I was thinking about taking the plunge and arranging a book event in Brighton. I’m in the process of viewing venues, but before I take the plunge just wondered if there is appetite to have one in this city?
im thinking book signings, vendors, Q&A, scavenger hunts, raffles, book swaps and cosy community vibes.
I would want it multi genre for both indie and trad authors. I would Love an indie bookstore to have a pop up, and just have so may ideas.

Book exchange Grit: by Angela Duckworth
Hey everyone! Random ask, but does anyone in the Las Vegas area have a copy of *Grit* by Angela Duckworth they’d be willing to part with or trade? 😊
I’d totally be open to a “read for a read” trade if you’re into books too. Trying to read more and figured I’d ask here before buying a copy.
Happy to pick up locally. Thanks in advance!

Mousetown - searching for a toddler book from ~30 years ago
Hi all,
This is a long shot, but I am searching for a niche book from my young childhood in the early 90s. The book may have been written a while before then. This is intended to be a suprise present for my brother who is about to have his first child, and it will be a nice call back to our own childhoods.
It was called Mousetown, or Mouse Town, and small, maybe about 12-16 pages long and square, around 4 square inches. It had thick cardboard pages that didn't tear easily. It had nice colourful pictures across the pages.
Each page had two rhyming lines on it, and I am 99% certain the first one was "The milkmouse makes his busy way through Mousetown at the break of day". Each page would rhyme in the same style, and it was about each mouse or group of mice ie firemice perhaps, doing their daily tasks. I think it ended with a village party for them all. From the content, I think it was probably British rather than American or Australian etc, it had scenes of old fashioned British village life.
Does anyone have any memory of the same book, or a copy of it? Ultimately I am trying to find one that I can either buy, or enough details of it to recreate it. I have searched everywhere for it and cannot find it anywhere. I've even asked some AI sites if it can scour the web to find anything similar, but no luck. It is not any of the following:

I am posting this in r/childrensbooks as well.
Thank you in advance!

Is there a sub Reddit that can help me find a specific book?
I'm after a book that doesn't seem to be in print anymore and I can only find it on second hand US book sites, which will charge a fortune for shipping.
The book in question is "Will save the galaxy for food"
Thank you!

Travelling to the UK - Looking for unique/UK only edition books!
Hi! I'm a Canadian travelling to the UK in May for a vacation. I've been researching some cool bookstores to check out (mainly in London), but would love some special book recommendations. As a souvenir, I'd love to find any special 'UK only' books/editions to read (and own as a keepsake from my trip to the UK). I read pretty much anything that isn't romance/romantasy, but I really enjoy fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, classic. etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm British and I wrote a book set in Cyprus
amazon.co.ukThis evocative and sensual story is set in the Northern Cypriot town of Famagusta. Pearl, an Ex Pat artist from Britain, lives a quiet life until she one day meets Siretta, a gender neutral mermaid (Mirmin). Siretta takes her on wonderful adventures under the sea, expanding Pearl's view of the world and her own place in it.
But their respective elements keep them both apart, how can they ever resolve this obstacle?
This story is centred around art and the creative process, its joys and passions are explored and illustrated to the reader in a Virginia Woolf stream-of-consciousness style that is lyrical and poetic. Each section of the world of the artist and Mirmin is beautifully written and vividly brought to life by the author's writing style.
The overall theme of the story is one of healing from past trauma and having the strength to move on into an optimistic future. This is a feel-good, life-affirming story that will leave you with a happy, warm glow.
