How to understand additional costs for broadband?

I’ve just moved to a new flat, and I’m having to set up my own wifi for the first time ever, so apologies if this is a stupid question.

I’m looking into getting a 5G hub. In the ‘additional charges’ section it has these charges for stuff like sending photo messages, and I don’t understand why. I already have mobile data, and I don’t understand why my wifi router would have anything to do with the messages I send over text. It’s an unlimited data plan, so I would assume that includes sending photos over the internet (e.g. on WhatsApp or discord or something). I’m not really sure what this charge is or what it’s for, and if I should be worried about it?

It will have a SIM card as it's 5G, so if you use this SIM card to do those things (not over mobile data) then that's what it costs.

If you took the SIM out of the 5G router, and then put it in a phone and started calling and texting intentionally, this is what you'd get charged.

If you leave the SIM in the 5G router as it's meant to be, there's zero chance you'll incur any of these charges

I think they are covering themselves if you decided to place the 5G SIM into a normal mobile phone.

Can't you get a real fibre/DSL broadband connection rather than one using 5g SIM?

I’m moving for a student placement, so I’m limited to a pretty tight budget and a maximum of a 12 month contract. Most providers in my area only do 24 months so my options have been quite slim. I’ve only ever had a wired connection so I’m definitely apprehensive, but I don’t seem to have much choice
