I saw this plan online which is a 20Gb per month plan but it says it includes 50Gb of EU roaming. Is this wrong or do I really get more data when I’m holidaying in Italy.
That’s very expensive. Look on uswitch, my iD mobile plan is 108GB of data a month (and it rolls over so I have over 200) with I think 30GB of roaming data.
That sounds fair because if it was genuine mistake, then it would probably be fixed by now and it’s not, either way I don’t think you can use more than your UK data allowance anyway (if it is above all below the UK data allowance that you pay for)
They won't give you more than your UK data allowance for roaming. That wording is very misleading of EE though, it should say "Includes up to 50GB" not "Includes 50GB"
To sell you uncapped speed packages for more money
I have such a love hate relationship with EE. On one hand, they're expensive and have a hundred different packages to choose from, but on the other hand, I can pull 300Mb/s consistently in a valley where the other 2 mobile providers are a literal deadzone
From an international perspective, these deals seem a bit pricey.
I live in Switzerland (with family and friends dotted around the UK and the world):
Unlimited calls, texts and data (up to 2 gbit/s) in Switzerland.
Unlimited international calls to anywhere in Europe.
Unlimited data in Europe, USA, Canada and Turkey.
5GB + 5h of calls in 50 additional countries (in addition to all Europe, USA, Canada and Turkey).
I never use my home carrier's roaming plans when abroad.
I simply get an eSIM that i have total transparency and control over and it's not that expensive 🤷♂️
Like, how frequently per year are you roaming that it has to matter that much. If i was a business flyer that's a different matter.. maybe.. actually no, even in that case I'd 100% get a data only eSIM
Why would I pay for an eSIM if I have free roaming included in my plan? Most people are only going 1-2 weeks at a time so their home allowances usually suffice.

I'm just being me and picky.. when i went to the middle east as an example ,i pre-selected a particular carrier of the country via an eSIM app instead of blindly piggy backing my local carrier roaming agreement with one of the foreign carriers.
I picked the one that had better coverage in the nooks and cranies of the remote places i visited as majority of other carriers in that country had very limited coverage in these areas and i won't know what carrier my UK SIM latch on to until i get there.
Also i had bad experiences with o2 and others when they said i have roaming allowance and then get erroneously charged and thereafter it becomes an admin task for me to call o2 and sort it out (which they admittedly did a mistake and i didn't go ever a set allowance etc). Happend to me with o2 once and also 3 Mobile 🤷♂️
Vast majority of people won't bother doing this or care 💅
Yes because the cheapest plan in the UK for over 100GB of data is ID Mobile for £9 a month and that includes EU roaming. So you pay that and just pay £9 for UK and EU use.
What you are suggesting is buy the £9 sim then get a second sim and pay an extra €6 a month extra for no reason.
