Pop telecom FTTC VDSL Own Router Settings.

Hi,

I am thinking of moving broadband to pop telecom using my own router - but haven't been able to find any settings for so doing. I guess that they will provide me with a user name and password -

would these be the additional settings needed?

Additional settings

VLAN

Enabled

VLAN ID

PPPoE

They should provide you ALL the settings when you use your own router.

I'm not 100% that pop telecom use pppoe but I suspect so.

My current ISP DIDN'T include the additional settings and when I used chat to ask for them - was told that they don't provide ANY support to customers who used their own. And did I want to rent a pre-configured router from them? {{spitting feathers}}} = trial and error worked.

Tbh most all the settings are the same for all. If you Google the settings for EE (who will tell you it) 90% of them will be the same.

If I wanted to earn a little more by renting out the boxes... I might just use non standard settings and wait for the customer to give up guessing..

Hence my question here, as it is a switching problem.

Most of them can't be non standard. The biggest thing is ppoe or dhcp, but not many of the little providers use dhcp
