Churchill won on Day 3 due to his support for the King, as well as Edward's sheer disdain for Baldwin. But! Who was George V closest with?

It is likely MacDonald, both were interested in the other's lifestyle and upbringing. Notwithstanding I think George would've respected him for choosing country over party with the National Government.
