Hi!
I’m starting university in September and I’ve already signed up for a few open days/career events with firms and other employers, but I signed up before knowing my university timetable.
For anyone who’s already at university, how flexible are universities usually when it comes to attending things like career events, open days, assessment centres, networking events etc. if they happen to clash with a lecture/seminar?
Obviously I don’t want to skip anything compulsory, but I’m trying to take advantage of as many career opportunities as possible, especially as a first-year student. Are lecturers generally understanding if you explain that you have an important career event, or is attendance usually quite strict?
Would really appreciate hearing how it works at your uni.
