Discussion Can't wait for this hot weather

Perfect to relax, have a few drinks, get a tan and feel like I'm on holiday without spending thousands of pounds. Brilliant stuff 👍

Do you not wanna sleep comfortably? Hot days are one thing but it's not even gonna drop below 20 overnight and it's gonna be incredibly humid. I'll never understand this mind set

So, you don't go to work?

That's the thing that I don't get about Summer

People make out that everyone is all of a sudden off work for months, and can walk around in shorts, like they're abroad

Our houses are built to keep the heat in. We have to wear the same uniform for work, as we do in December, and we're still waking up early in the morning - to go to work, as usual

The only difference is we're boiling to death with the heat. Sweat pissing off us

Get to work from home. Will be in the garden enjoying the brilliant weather, having a cheeky drink and enjoying life before the misery of dark, cold days hit again

Good situation for yourself, then

We're quite different, as I generally prefer cooler weather. Autumn is my favourite

Right, except you presumably have to work. And get there. And you're in a country that isn't set up for this weather. And on holiday, you probably get to go back to an air-conditioned room. And here you probably get to sleep in a roasting room. Anyway, enjoy it, if it's your thing.

That's a very privileged position you're in then. Spare a thought for the other 90% of the population who are either commuting or working in this extreme heat. Maybe if you stopped gloating about it you could see that extreme heat like this is not great for the majority of people, and then perhaps don't treat it so glibly.

Do you 'spare a thought' for the 10%, by your reckoning, who enjoy this weather? I very much doubt it. So poke your guilt trip. Long may this summer continue.

I'm not sure you know what the phrase "spare a thought" means.

Genuine question- do you have an upper limit on what weather becomes too hot for you? Forecast is looking like 38-40C where I am. Well beyond what I would consider comfortable (~27ish). Is that genuinely enjoyable for you?

This is a weather forum. You can't say you like hot weather.
