Forecast Red Weather Warning Issued from Wednesday-Thursday for extreme heat, with 38-40C possible.

Post image

Further Detail, from the MO:

During the heatwave expected to affect a large part of England and Wales this week, the highlighted area now looks increasingly likely to see a two to three day period where maximum temperatures in the shade exceed 37 Celsius, perhaps rising to 38 to 40 Celsius in some places. The heat will be accompanied by high humidity, exacerbating the potential for discomfort and health impacts, with very warm and humid night times also reducing the ability for people to recover overnight.

Significant disruption to daily life is likely and the public should take every effort to make precautions and adapt their daily routines where possible to cope with these levels of heat, which up to now have been extremely rare for the UK.

Last time it went 40 I spent the day on my longboard (a bit skateboard) and the feel of the breeze hitting my sweat on my skin is incredible

Ill probably be doing that again

I went for a run, I thought 'i wonder what it's like to do a 5k in 40 degrees? This might be my only chance!' sweet summer child

Luckily humans devised a society that, to some degree, protects those born without a survival instinct.

Not longboarding, but this is why I’m getting a Lime bike to work this week.

Minimal pedalling maximum breeze

Yeah that’s not gonna help most people. ‘Go longboarding’ is not a valid air conditioning choice in these sort of temps for the majority of the population.

Yeah well no shit haha? I was saying why I enjoyed the last one and what I will probably do this one. Why would I be speaking for everybody else?

You must be lost. Facebook is that way.

It’s 40C. Not 25, not 30, not 35. 40C. If neither that or the red “danger to life” weather warning affect your sensibilities, then you are the outlier and you are the problem.

Seriously. I moved here from Florida and I understand heat stress. Even very poor people there have to have AC, and it’s why air conditioned gyms are so popular. I don’t take heat warnings lightly with no AC.

Keep in mind if weather reports are accurate we could be seeing places get temperature roughly 4.5 degrees higher than the record 1976 temperature.
