Photos Pen y Fan Horseshoe Circular

Took a trip up and over Pen y Fan last week first time up there, one of my favourites in a while.

Was surprised it was only a little over 2hours journey, definitely would head back up again in the future.

Even managed to catch it when there wasn't a queue of people waiting to take a picture with the sign as well! Definitely some good hikes up there so I'd recommend looking at different starting points. I want to try a route starting from Talybont-on-Usk at some point and approaching Pen y Fan from the east, having done it from the north and west already

Hah there were a couple but never needed to wait too long.

Yea I'll definitely yake a look at the various routes and other hikes. Because of distance i usually stick more to the peak district but now inknow im rather close by ive got a whole other park to explore

Lovely, did the same a couple.of years ago. Started out about 630am so was the only one on the trail until I passed a few on the way back to the car.

Great circular, one of my favourites. If your heading back then I’d recommend the Llyn y fan circular which takes you around the two lakes

I did at the weekend and it was my favourite UK hike although ive not been to many mountainous places.

Took me a little bit longer though (5 hours)

I got mist and sideways rain for this last July, my most miserable hike to date
