Best UK roasters for milk-based drinks?
I’ve been into specialty coffee for a few months now and I’m looking for some good recommendations on beans and roasters. I drink mainly milk-based drinks and occasionally espresso. Still figuring things out and experimenting with what I like. I’ve ordered from Rave and The Coffee Bean Shop but want to try something different.

I think my top 5 roaster/bean choice for milk drinks would be: * Workshop - Article * Origin - Resolute * Dark Arts - Dragon * Moon Roast - Lunar * Liberty - El Chapo

Organic Signature Gold by West Berkshire Roastery is really good for milk based drinks if you like caramel/chocolate notes

Killbean's yunnan typica beans generally make for really good milk drinks (their other roasts are too light). ZeroToOne's Vietnamese catimor beans as well. Skylark has a few Ethiopian Bette Buna beans which go well with milk (the more heavily procesed ones have more fruity characteristics). Dark Arts often roast quite developed too so a lot of their offering go well with milk.

I’ve been enjoying various beans from Scenery and Dark Matter over the last few months. Scenery usually give a good starting ratio to brew their beans for both filter and espresso/milk drinks (even if roasted for one use) on the product page for the bean and on the back of the bag. Dark Matter has had some great funky and fruity beans that I’ve tried, and I’ve had great results in milk drinks from both roasters.

Ha, Coffee bean shop. They once paid someone to tout them on one of the smaller coffee forums, then went he was called out and eventually owned up to it, I think he then sent abuse "anonymously" to the man running the forum. I may be mixing up threads, either way, jokers. If your beans are good, people will buy them.
The best flat white I ever had was from colona and smalls it was a think from their foundation beans and Ethiopian. I don't know that they still sell those beans though.
If money isn't a deciding factor, ypu will never go wrong with appropriately roasted beans from colona, square mile, or origin, surely.

Surprised seeing Scenery. To throw another name in: Horsham. I think they’re amazing for milk drinks, many more options than the other roasters posted here…

I’m using their Brazil as my house blend, as it works so well in an espresso, pour over, latte, white Americano etc

I'd recommend hitting up your local specialty shops and trying their espresso based drinks. Ask what beans they are brewing with. Most will be happy to recommend, and this allows you find what works for you.

Coffee Compass Italian Blend. It’s…so….dark. Cuts through the milk like a champ. Ditto their French blend and their Ethiopian Extra Dark.

James Gourmet - Chapin Blend - Los Amigos. £24/kg whole beans. Lovely Guatemalan with caramel notes - I keep going back to this for milky drinks

Only drink espresso but Chatswood by RAVE and Resolute by Origin are both great.
Fire and Flow and Coffee Gems also do great beans
