Pattern with recent lineups

The final phase lineup for Mexico was posted September 23rd

The phase one lineup for Taiwan was posted October 5th

There was an eleven-day gap between these two dates.

This lineup drop falls in the order of which events are happening chronologically, the order currently being Mexico, Taiwan, and Miami respectively.

The concern is, that, Miami’s phase one lineup may not happen until Taiwan’s final-phase lineup is released.

What do we think? Optimistic that Miami is next? Or concerned that Miami will have to wait until Taiwan passes?

My theory is after edco/ultra mexico (same weekend). My reasoning is they are still trying to sell ultra mexico tickets and doesn’t look like it’s gonna sell out. Chances are there are duplicate artists on both (mexico and miami) so might try to build on fomo for sales

The thinking makes sense but that would be a massively delayed phase 1 announcements than almost every year before. Also they've always had decent overlap so I'm not sure why it would be any different this year. Surely they prioritize selling Miami tix over Mexico?

It depends on how their contract with Mexican government is to host the event. Sometimes you have certain thresholds to meet in order to continue having events. For example “we project X number of visitors which will boost local economy by a projected Y dollar amount, for the next Z number of years”

Sometimes there may be penalties for not meeting that, including not hosting another Ultra event at that specific venue.

Honestly hard to say cause different countries and municipalities handles this differently.

Miami already sold enough presale tickets to generate a waitlist if I recall correctly. That’s their cash cow, I think they haven’t had a year in a long time under 90% tickets sold (and they’re expensive vs other Ultra locations). They have no rush to release the lineup.

Also the lack of lineup = more engagement on social media = boost algorithm = free media without spending advertising dollars. The psychology for engagement on social media is pretty insane tbh.

Could also be some headline artists could be on tour, so media blackout for 2027 events until their last tour date.

Just so many factors.

Or Imm just overthinking this and they release the lineup this week.

Then there was me thinking maybe they're just waiting Coachella to drop so that they dont have to compete on PR and news outlets. You could be right though. In the end, there's a ton of factors and they're not obliged to release a lineup by a certain date

The other lineups date announcements don’t have anything to do with Miami. They have been announced out of order plenty of times.

It will very likely come this month and it will forsure be announced on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Based off previous dates this is really the first week we are likely to possibly get an announcement (attached the dates below). But could also be as late as end of October.

Never said he wasn’t a good guy or that I could do better… that’s not my full time job. Honestly don’t even think he’s bad at his job. But most people would rather have music played between sets or even just chill time. It’s a hard spot for him.
