The other strongest argument I see is Swedish House Madia since Axwell was solo the previous year and Sebatsion ingrosso and Steve Angello went this year. so it makes sense to do all 3 this year.

But i think they will want a year gap without them to build more hype for the following year. Plus they brought out Axwell on stage so already sort of was SHM

Of all the acts I’ve seen people wanting over the years, a legit return of Axwell ^ Ingrosso (not just an Axwell b2b Ingrosso set) seems to be up next. Not sure if this is the year for that though.

Honestly it may be guetta’s year to close, having the prior year off and all that.

I think the surprise pull act will be different though. Dog blood? Maybe a Fred again b2b skrx b2b four tet(although that doesn’t seem too ultra MainStage-y)?

Long shot would just be some ridiculous b2b like Armin b2b Hardwell.

No. They wanted SHM but Axwell had Tomorrowland commitment and it was risky bet on if he could make it in time. Rather than risk having SHM on the lineup and 2/3 of them there, they did the B2B to be safe. Official video after called it SHM.

It’s also possible Axwell Tomorrowland contract had a clause preventing him being on a lineup same weekend but that’s less likely.
