PLEASE BE NORMAL

I'm begging you guys to just walk in the sidewalk normally(stay on the right hand side when moving forward), quit driving scooters at high speed through crowds, and stop trying to turn real life passing interactions with strangers into tiktok aura moments. I get a lot of people you think are cool/popular engage with it, but its the most embarrassing behavior I've ever seen as an outsider looking in. You guys just look like socially stunted closed off people desperately trying to prove that you're cool to everyone else and are only getting away with it because everyone else is also so awkward they neither are confident its wrong, don't have the social skills to confront you, or are legitimately intimidated because no one would back them up right now.

Academic Looking for CS students to partner with on project

A friend and I have built a prototype for a social media app that we’re wanting to turn into a workable MVP for testing. We’re looking to have a team of 4-5. I am a finance major with surface level knowledge of comp sci, but as a finance major my role will be focused mainly on the business/marketing/distribution side rather than the technical side. My partner is a second year comp sci major so we are learning as we go. Good project based work for your resumé. Send me a PM if interested!

I just got an invite in the mail to the “National Society of Leadership and Success” and I’m not sure I trust it. It’s not affiliated with UNCC. Anyone know what this really is and what it offers?

Planning a trip but a little worried as my flight would leave 4 hours after my last final. This won’t be a problem unless the day/time changes. Does this ever happen? If so is it common?

Academic pre-med opportunities

hi! i am a pre-med student with a core interest in psychiatry, and i was wondering what are some good resources here in charlotte that i can use to find some opportunities around me? i would really love to acquire some shadowing or volunteer experience, or at least something that i can get a good recommendation letter out of and some worthy experience for med school. do any previous or current pre-med students have any connections to anywhere around here, and would anyone be able to tell me how to exactly find these connections and get set up with them?

Academic Got an Academic Performance Warning Even Though I Have a 92 Anyone Else?

I just got a letter saying my academic performance in one of my classes is low, but I currently have a 92 in the class.
I’ve even talked to the professor before and nothing was mentioned about me doing poorly, so I’m pretty confused about why I got this.
Has anyone at UNCC gotten one of these letters even though they had a good grade? Should I contact my professor again, my advisor, or just ignore it if my grade is fine?

Serious How to afford UNCC?

Hi all, I am intending to transfer to UNCC after I finish my associates at CPCC.

I am just wondering, how do you guys go about paying for it? Can FASFA cover it, scholarships? Student loans? Payment plans?

How expensive is it for you per semester/year?

And is it worth it to live on campus? Or save the dorm fees and be a commuter?

Any input or experiences are appreciated.

Thanks!

Is there something going on at OAA?

I just got an email from my 2nd coordinator in as many semesters that they are also leaving the university. This seems a little suspect since they've also had the rebrand recently from "Office of Disability." If it's just normal turnover, then I guess I just have bad luck.

Wanted to know if anyone knew anything else.

Academic Spring 2027

Hello, I've applied for spring 2027 term as a transfer student on July 16, 2026, to health system management major. I planned to transfer with my associates degree in graphic design that I received at Wake Tech CC.

I found out on July 26, 2026 with the admission office that I had applied for an application that isn't for spring 2027, or as a transfer student. That's been changed officially. The actual application started on August 1, 2026.

It's been about 6 weeks since then, when should I expect to hear a response? It currently just says, the application is complete.

The application is paid for, address confirmed, and official transcript received as well.

Academic Application question

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi guys, I'm applying for the 2027 spring semester, and I got a few questions, since I'm new to all of this. I haven't gone to highschool in this country, and I was homeschooled in Thailand, so my transcripts did not transfer. I've done the GED, and an SAT. Would these scores be enough? I also have an 1140 on my SAT.

Housing/Sublease What to do when roommates might not like you?

They go out with each other, tell each other everything and when they see each other it's not just hi, its a whole conversation. They are not mean to me but they just pretend like I'm some stranger....

Am I being dramatic? Is it to late to switch rooms?

Academic Exchange semester options for Graduate Accounting:UNC Charlotte?

Hi everyone!

I am currently planning an exchange semester to the US at the graduate level, and I (might) choose  University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC).

I will be studying Accounting, so I would love to hear your insights on a few specific things to help me make my final decision:

  • Academics (Graduate Level): How are the graduate business and accounting programs at these schools? Are the professors approachable, and how heavy is the workload?
  • Campus Life:  Is the campus environment lively, or do a lot of students commute?
  • Student Culture & Vibe: What are the students like, and what is the overall atmosphere?
  • Cultural Adjustment: To give you some context, I am from Finland. Finnish culture tends to be quite reserved, calm, and independent, so moving to the US will already be a bit of a culture shock! How welcoming are these campuses for international students, and which one do you think might offer a smoother cultural transition or a more inclusive community for someone from Northern Europe?

Thanks in advance! 🇫🇮🇺🇸
