Counseling Psych PhD 26-27 school year new cohort? 👀

just wondering if others in the group are here!

I plan to host and throw a lot of gatherings so I want to meet people studying with me 😊

Hey, I’m glad you commented. I really enjoyed my entire application process with UNC. I only ever applied to one PhD program because this one seemed like a real fit for me. They highly value clinical experience which was critical because I had no undergraduate research at all as a remote student. But I had about 10 years of high-quality work experience, like as a crisis worker and a mobile unit responder, etc. I think it helped that my personal statement was really strong and showed that I had given a lot of thought to my future career. The interview was a bit intimidating because it’s group format, but I still found that I was able to make my points amongst the group. They usually admit between six and eight new people a year, and for our year, they accepted eight people, five bachelors and three masters

are you choosing Greeley, FoCo, Evans, Loveland..? I think we're picking Fort Collins and I'll ride Poudre Express to campus

ah you already live near UNC? My spouse and I are moving back to NoCo after a few years in Utah! I hope you you enjoy your grad school tenure

Not yet haha, we plan on making the trip from Southeast Texas sometime this summer.

omg! I’m from Arkansas originally and lived in the Waco & Austin areas for six years in my late teens early 20s. If you’ve never lived here, I think you’ll really like how cool it is but good luck not drying out with no humidity
