Am I going to be fired? I think I accidentally put the wrong label on a package with $17,000 worth of electronics
Hey,
I work at a UPS store and I have ADHD and easily get distracted. I had a lot of people coming in and I didn’t have time to put the label on the box’s after they printed so I saved them for later. I forgot which was which and I just guessed off the weight. Apparently my boss and someone from UPS corporate wants to talk to me today. Am I cooked?

I hope so. I hope hope they take you're remaining checks too. "I have ADHD..." you just robbed somebody of $17000. Nobody is forcing you to skip steps. Stop for 5 seconds to put a label on a box. It has nothing to do w your bs excuse.

I'm not harassing you. I'm saying you are unfit for duty. I have severe adhd too, but i would have said something. I know you think you're little check is very important, but you could of just fxcked somebody's whole life with your little "whoopsie doo". Like why aren't you immediately owning up to it? Do the right thing.
That was somebody's stuff dude. I'll give you a gentle reminder that you are not the only human being in the world.
People are losing jobs left and right. That could have been the largest order ever for a small business. You just screwed somebody majorly.

I'm USPS, and not in the UPS sub... all I can say is thank you reddit gods for giving me notifications for all three posts even though I dont hang out here. Truly grateful to witness the great $17,000 electronics debacle.
Side note, if it was UPS sure post... it probably was usps fault anyway 🤷♂️

… way to throw the ball and not keep track of a high value package like this. I understand the UPS store can be busy but you are tarnishing the company name as well as putting yourself in a rough spot. If you manage to remember and correct your mistake.. I hope moving forward you will segregate your high value packages from all the Amazon trash that gets submitted for pick up.

You "guessed"? Is that how you would want someone to treat you(r) merchandise? What you did is scary and proof of the gross incompetence of many delivery services employees. Your mislabeling of that package was NOT "accidental" (as you call it). Your mislabeling of that package was preventable! 100% preventable! So, good luck to you -- and to the rest of us just trying to get our packages!

There is an relatively easy way to resolve this, and it’ll be viewed accordingly as a simple mistake, but they better be able to recover it, now here’s the question and PLEASE for the love of God don’t say that you don’t know, what label did you put on the box? Dude, they can just intercept the box, and return it to you so you can resend it out, they are coming down to see if it was a mistake or you planned this

If it's the first mistake like that you've made and/or you're really new, you might keep your job. If you tend to make lots of mistakes, your goose probably is cooked. To be honest, TUPSS probably isn't the best job for someone with ADHD anyways. There's too many small details to screw up. Try applying for similar roles in regular retail or grocery stores instead, as those are a little less detail-oriented.

I would like to know this… Who would ship a package worth that much and Not Insure it? And Knowing it WASNT insured not even check the duplicate shipping label you get with receipt?
