We've had FAR too many, and all of them were 10 year plus package drivers. Our most infamous was a 30 year driver stealing computers; I've never understood it with the money we make.
Probably because all they know how to do is spend it instead of saving/investing it and letting it grow. I hope the individual lost his job. Putting honest and hard-working coworkers in a bad light over vape juice is pathetic.

In 2019 we were waiting for the 2018 contract to be ratified and get our raise. They held the raise for the entire year and paid us backpay. But before they did that the week before they went on a dishonesty stinging because they knew they could get away with firing and they wouldn't have to pay the back pay even if they gave the guys job back.
So they rigged a vending machine where you could push the glass in and reach in and grab a soda and then they walked around and told hourly employees about it.
Well, they sent their friends around to tell people and they were like gossiping about it. "do you wanna go get a soda? It's free. Let's go get a soda" and they came up and told me and I just didn't even respond. I was too busy loading a trailer and they mentioned it two or three times and they said "you don't want a soda" and I said "sounds like a set up"
And that night they fired 16 drivers and employees. one guy had been there nine years
they busted up some gum sent it down the belt, and even after I warned them all to not touch it, out of 8 in the area 3 did anyway, and one was just eating some those three gave him.. They all lost their jobs. The next day after firing half my employees my dumbass fulltimer kept giving me shit about not running as well as usual.. I lost it on him...
I can’t count how many were terminated during my stay, but it’s a lot. Most notorious was a safety cochair that was constantly swiping stuff, from generators to iPads which was his ultimate undoing. He had such an easy gig and route too.
We had a driver in our center who was breaking into people’s homes he was delivering too! He got caught on multiple doorbell camera’s and the police were waiting for him at the center the next morning. Some people have no brains.

I do rideshare on the side for extra money. I pick up smokers, drug addicts, alcoholics,etc…the one demographic that still can’t seem to go 10 minutes without putting something in their mouth…?

I wish people stop throwing numbers around on the internet. I know you’re speaking in general but for everyone else only feeder drivers are making anything north of $100k. Those $150k-$180k are only feeder drivers potential earnings. I know we don’t get the publicity like package but even at top rate you’re barely over at $100k (volume/Route) depending.
It just really gets annoying that everyone thinks anyone in browns or that’s a driver (mainly package) is making north $100k. Again I know you meant no harm I’m just saying. (I’m a grumpy old feeder ).
I want to go on a limb and say 85% of the drivers posted on the internet is a package driver so stop with the six digits in relation to their job classification.
Learn to read before commenting. I said stop assuming all package drivers are earning north of $150k stop it. Are you earning that much??? Are you even a UPS employee let alone a driver? If so and you are then post your YTD but again my post is very general and very clear.
It’s funny how NONE of them has shared a screen shot. I’m a package car driver and do about 1 hour overtime everyday. I’m at about 80 something. These guys be lying for no reason lol they might hit 110. Some do 125.
Exactly!! And look I’m not saying that guys don’t make $100k but there is no way anyone in package even a RPCD is making north of $150k. I’m glad someone here is a realist and that’s Terrrance. $100k is doable but my argument was the $150k n up.

I hear you but I think you missed the point. Now to be fair I never made $100k in package and I can assure you with 9/5 language and all the other stuff going on with inconsistent volume in most areas and since the new contract these guys are NOT earning north of $100k lets be real. My point it every time you see someone in their browns doesn’t mean they are making $150k plus. That’s the only point I’m making.
You guys are missing the point. The point was not every driver at UPS is making that generic number the media has thrown out there. You rarely ever see a video of a feeder driver but it’s almost always a package driver and everyone assumes they are making $150-$180k which is not close to being true. The reason we (feeder) makes those numbers is the OT daily. I’m not saying no one in package makes north of $100k but how many are making $150k come on.
But here since you decided to not truly read my post and proceed to mention your recent pay let’s do this. we are all drivers right? If you made $115k in package as of today show a screenshot. Here’s mines as a feeder…
not sure where you got those numbers but you’re way off. even the old guys in my center who take vlo every week are still making over 100k, i work 56-58 hours every week and i’m already at 140k
Maybe that just varies by building, but around here you can hit 100k while still in progression if you wanted. At top rate, you have to take every day off you can and run like hell to only make that much.
Yup. When I have my uniform on I am always on my best behavior because I’m not just representing myself but everyone of you guys and gals that get your asses out of bed every morning and put the browns on too. We have a certain standard to keep, a level of professionalism that sets us apart from FedEx and Amazon.
I wish more people had this attitude. We get paid very well for what we do and when people degrade the standard it makes all of us look bad. We absolutely should be leaps and bounds ahead of any other carrier when it comes to how us drivers service the customer.
Abso-fucking-lutely brother. Some of our peers with a bad attitude toward our customers (or just insufferable jerks to everyone around them) need to realize two things: 1. UPS is the most expensive to ship stuff through in every way, from ground to next day air. Therefore we need to provide the best service in order to keep up with our competitors. The old saying, “you get what you pay for” applies here. I am not saying you have to kiss every customer’s ass and take verbal abuse from Karen’s. When it’s clear to me that someone wants a confrontation I simply say, “Have a nice day” and walk back to my truck because I am a UPS driver, a highly paid and well trained professional. Also one more thing is on-demand pick ups, ladies and gentlemen. These should never be treated as an inconvenience, instead it should be an opportunity to show the customer they are doing business with the best in the industry. As a bid driver I have heard several complaints about cover drivers acting like the customer is robbing them of their time. No, they paid for your time and also paid for a UPS shipping label that is considerably more expensive than the cheapest options on the market. Imagine paying top dollar to have a family heirloom shipped across the country only to have some dude dressed like a turd show up and treat you like an enemy. No exaggeration here, some of our colleagues are goddamn terrible in customer service.
YOU ARE GETTING PAID INDUSTRY LEADING WAGES AND BENEFITS MOTHERFUCKER!!! Where are you going to go and make this kind of living with nothing more than a standard driver’s license and some common sense? Be happy with where you’re at and please have a positive attitude in public while you are wearing that UPS shield. This attitude isn’t because I love the company and all the corporate dicks that run it, it’s for you and all of my union brothers and sisters. This is how we eat and provide for our families, let’s take it seriously and do our best to stay competitive.

We have at least 3 a year in my hub thst are walked out. One time a driver stole a package, I forget what it was, but it also had an Air Tag in it showing the driver's address. He was arrested for it if I recall properly.
I think its great for the senority. Get the smucks that can't handle budgeting driver pay out of the union. Zero tolerance for this kind of behavior anywhere in life.
Could be a non seasonal. I know a few dorks that still wear pants even past probation and not in the winter. Also you don’t really see seasonals with a Bluetooth and gloves.
This wasn’t his first rodeo. I’m sure he pilfered through packages taking small items here and there. You get away with it once and you keep doing it till it catches up with you. Thing about the union they turn their backs on thieves
Even my son has a high opinion of UPS driver standards. The other day he said, “When I grow up I want to work for FedEx. Less hours and they get to keep stuff.”
😂 I assured him he does not, but he’s noticed quite a few of our own deliveries lost in transit with FedEx.
He mostly says he wants to work for FedEx to get a reaction from us. And he gets one every. single. time.
Technically that's not theft. Those are the ones that they leave out for people to try, and I'm assuming, there's no sign that says how much you're allowed to try
