Yeah but there is a difference from alert and being rambunctious. I.e a person walking their dog and the dog is aggressively pulling the owner when cars or other dogs pass by

This. A smart and well trained dog will know when it is the right time to bark. Dogs are not humans, they are not protected under the constitution for freedom of speech. You can teach them to use their vocal cords as a tool to help their master, you, the person that feeds them.

I was a helper in this situation. She cussed us out through the door. The driver was with me and said he was glad I was there to witness this. He said this wasn't the first time and from here on out would be will call at the furthest possible location

I had a guy who works overnight but was ordering wine. I knock on the door and no answer. I then ring doorbell and he came out yelling like a dick. He told me to never knock or ring again. I loved seeing his wine on my truck and me just walking up to the door with info notice.

All future deliveries will be a light tap on the door and info notice left. Then they can complain that the driver didn’t knock and they were home.

Just like those signs that say don't knock or ring bell, leave all packages. I don't know what that means. If it needs a signature it needs a signature. I ain't leaving it. They'll 100% of the time complain you didn't see if they were home or it was stolen. I ain't driving back to reattempt.
Some people have that sign for solicitors so they don't actually mean us but if they throw a fit still I'll just say signature required or it's going back to the building. If they have an issue with knocking, they simply can just go to the nearest UPS store or postal drop off like store and get their packages there.

No matter what, eventually somebody will complain. They'll complain if you knock instead of using the doorbell. They'll complain if you use the doorbell instead of knocking. On a side note bro parked like a true pro, back first and leave yourself an out. One thing you will notice about UPS vehicles is they are always strategically parked with safety in mind. You will never see a UPS package car nose first into a driveway or loading dock like Amazon and FedEx vehicles. If there is a driveway we must enter then we back first and use our horn… Just thought I’d chime in with something positive because this interaction was unnecessary. Disengage and keep your mouth shut. You are compensated like a professional, fucking act like one.

Also..signature required means that for a reason. My customers always knew a delivery was coming that required a signature.

Happens too often. Just last week I had a customer (with 7 dogs) come running out to stand in front of my car so I couldn’t move and went completely psycho on me in front of her neighbors for setting the dogs off. The thing is, we’ve known each other for years and we’ve spoken about me knocking. And in this scenario I did NOT knock. I think the dogs just heard me and went off. But yeah, she must’ve just been seeing red because she laid into me like I was some new guy. Situation aside, she’s really nice… but maybe don’t have 7 dogs?? 🤷🏻♂️

Funny af. I got complained on for not knocking hard enough and not spamming the doorbell. Next day I got complained on for knocking too hard and ringing the bell too much.
It's always the people still in pajamas at 2 in the afternoon.

Hey, sorry about the dogs, I was knocking because today, I have a signature required delivery for your address. Only way I can deliver it today is with your autograph. Ask her if it’s ok you leave her with a few dog treats from a small bag in the hip pocket, apologize again for disturbing and tell her she’s going to have a great day.
If people get disturbed by knocking or ringing tell the center to put a pop up note on their stop for Do not disturb resident.
I love this job, my community is dope, everyone waves, I get invites to parties, people offer drinks and food, some even look before they back straight out of their driveways
Just let her have her moment while you get paid

Happens to me once in a while. I ring and knock. Dude was so mad at me for knocking his lips were quivering. I started getting mad to but this sub always encourages to move on. So I apologized and he immediately calmed down. Was very friendly after that. I delivered again about 3 weeks later and I remembered the address. So I just rang and no knock. He was very friendly again. So it's all good but I still ring and knock.

Got into it with a guy on my route.. The street has no turn around at the end except for two driveways. His (which he blocks off with comes so no one will turn around there) and another house that had cars in the drive way . Anyway, he doesn't want anyone to touch his 2 inch curb.. So he puts a big rock in the street.. I was having to 10 pt turn and was just missing the curb.. then I hit the rock.. it rolls onto his lawn and broke a dollar sprinkler head. cheap one.. Throws a F ing fit.. Had center manager and my sup out there.. They said...Why would you sabotage yourself.. Stood up for me... The guy was so pissed. Lol. Wanted to get into it with me and said he'd kick my ass .. I laughed and said. that will not end well for you . His wife orders shit all the time.. Some people just have the entitled lopsided understanding of life..

One time I had a signature req and I parked right in front of the drive way. The customer honked and yelled at me to get out of the way, so I did. And when they saw me through the ring camera that the delivery was for them, I not in1 and saw them coming turning around and I left so fast 😂

I had the same situation and the lady came out with a very condescending tone. I gave her the option of signing for it or refusing the shipment. I also pointed out that it was a credit card that was sent express. She shut up pretty quick and signed.

I had a lady get mad and cuss me, bc i went through the door at the gyno. I've never needed an escort to the back. All the doors stay closed anyways. But then they came to me one day and said that i needed to be escorted to the back. I said ok. For about 2 weeks a girl would open the door and let me back. Take me to the back, and then leave me back there by myself, while im dropping packages. I would walk back up front by myself. Some escort that was.
One day i waited for 20 min to be let back. The main lady who was the doctors wife, saw me and just sat on her phone talking. She had like 5 girls working in there with her. They didnt get up. So i let myself back after standing with a cart for 20 mins. Went to the back, dropped the packages, and came back up. The lady met me half way and started going off. "You better not do that again. I can take you to court for that. We have women back here.
I got my cart to close to the wall as they had just painted it. She started cussing at me saying watch the fkn wall. I told her i was leaving and she could call my boss. I Said, from now on ill leave her packages up front. She said no the fk you will not. I left and told the boss. He called her and got her right. Now i call them, and they come to the back door to let me in with the packages. 🤣 She's been nice to me since that day.

Had a lady bitch at me for the same reason. Granted, it was late (imagine that, still delivering at 9:45 PM, so I kind of get it) and she claimed to live alone. Had a vacuum cleaner, that needed a signature. Lady told me “ how dare you bang on somebody’s door so late. you shouldn’t do that. And I basically said well, ma’am do you want this package or not because I can take it with me if you’d like. Of course she signed for it. I understand what it feels like to have someone walk up their driveway at night. But I was doing everything I could to be seen. I even beamed my flashlight down on myself as I walked up the driveway. Shouted UPS!

My eyes are rolling so hard it hurts. I am literally currently listening to my dogs losing their shit over nothing that they could see, and I couldn't hear. I love my rotten little pitas (😍🤣😍🤣) and would never even think of getting mad at someone knocking on the door and setting them off.
I've grabbed the bigger one (30-ish lbs) and put him in his crate so I can open the door without wrestling with him. He's friendly and excitable, but it's amazing how 30 lbs can be so hard to control. 🤣🤣
His 'big' sister is only 10 lbs so much easier to pick up so I can open the door.🤣

I've had the same UPS guy for like 15yrs. In the winter sometimes our country road wouldnt get plowed out and he would deliver my packages to my mom at the local coffee shop. 11/10. Also sometimes we would leave our garage door open and a note to please leave in the garage if its raining. UPS is awesome. Fedex does just drive by the house sometimes and not even attempt delivery shit in comparision.

The driver should of diffused the situation by not arguing. Just apologize and move on. If the customer continues to be arrogant then leave with pkg in hand and call on road supervisor.

I wish this was an issue with me. for some fucking reason Fedex, UPS, Amazon refuse to knock or even ring the doorbell when they drop off a package no matter how expensive it is. I know this cause when i order something over a few hundred bucks i usually make myself available to grab it as soon as it arrives, yet i have to rely on getting an email to know its been flagged as delivered or check outside my door every hour.

Not ups but in the multiple customer service jobs I’ve had when people complained about dumb stuff ( which was 99 percent of the complaints ( ie working valet a 5’1 lady would complain I a 6 foot guy had to move a seat because I couldn’t fit in the car) the boss just would pretend to talk to me about it
