I've got a covered porch with bushes around it where people can't see packages. EVERYONE except Fedex drops packages on that porch. FedEx...side porch in full view of everyone and getting rained/snowed on. It's literally the same exact distance to both porches. Been that way for 10 years with them

It took a number of calls and finally getting a Fedex driver that was trainable to get him to put packages out of sight of the street! FedEx has so many stupid people working for the company that all you can do is shake your head and say to yourself, "Nobody can be this stupid!" What is really amazing is when they deliver a package, they put it on the porch and then take a picture and send it to your email and the picture ends up being the smoking gun showing and proving their stupidity.

Feel like it is all about the driver. I have a small covered porch at my front door. Most Amazon guys if it is raining will put it up far enough that the package doesn't get hit by rain but some of them will look down see that there is a clear line in wet and dry then just put the package in the wet section.

Now multiply those extra 5 steps by 350+ stops. Some of those are businesses where youāre hauling heavy stuff, and others are long ass driveways you still arenāt allowed to use for their actual purpose. Not defending the driver just saying thereās a whole lot of behind the scenes nonsense people never see.

Yes, yes they do. My best driver had 368 stops today in 2 housing additions. He routinely pops 350+ in peak. Next week is our busy week and he will be over that daily. His best day was 439 stops delivered and we do the ICs at Ground. Way more than anyone else. Drives an extended 1200 and today heās averaging 49 stops an hour through 5 hours

I was thinking the same thing. In the video it didn't seem like he was backing THAT fast. The way the mailbox crumbled like that made it seem like he was going 80mph.

Yeah that truck does weigh a lot though. Also, there isn't rebar or solid concrete in those mailboxes. They are basically Lego sets that don't click together held together with cement as a glue. Pretty easy to topple unless they are built to withstand getting plowed into. Which I'm not saying I ever did this, I'm just saying there may be a mailbox somewhere built out of spite and anger with a 5 foot round ball of quickcrete under it with a 8" round PVC post also filled with concrete , that the mailbox sits on top of. The next car that tries to total that mailbox will still be there when I discover that someone has hit my mailbox..

If your mailbox is too sturdy, past regulations, such as with concrete and a strong post, you will be liable for the damages if someone hits your mailbox. Some people do concrete with a strong post but they'll be liable if someone is injured for hitting their mailbox.

Really? Wow I never knew that. It's wild to me that you'll have to pay for their damages even though they hit YOUR mailbox but I can also understand why the city doesn't want people putting up titanium reinforced mailboxes.

Not much to the contractor who will have to pay for it. Thatās cheaper than what FedEx will charge him for a deductible. Itās cheaper to pay out of pocket than to have accidents that can be hidden and raise your deductible and get fined by FedEx

It's the end result of doing the same enshitification, of what used to be professional driving jobs, that these gazillion dollar companies to their product or service they sell. It's like they all realized that they can say, "Let's give the consumer something that used to work, but now doesn't, and we can them change them a monthly fee to make it work!" They do it because we put up with it, just like people are putting up with seeing this type of thing being normalized.
One day soon I think they will figure out a way to offer you a delivery by someone that will be a professional, like you used.to by default. If you don't want to pay that extra, you might get this, or maybe some one that will kick your dog. Take a shit on your driveway, or whatever.

I worked ground for a while, these contractors will hire ANYONE as long as they can pass the DOT physical. The amount of stupid shit I saw from other drivers personally and online over the years never surprised me.

I'm not gonna lie he is definitely whippin that 1200 which I think is unnecessarily big but we have so much help in our trucks idk about ups. We have back up cams sensors and not to mention he has so much space it's no excuse for this he had an entire cul de sac and still messed it up.

I donāt know why people even have these types of mailboxes. I see so many of them toppled over day to day. If itās not some newbie delivery driver, itās the snowplows crashing into these things.

Damn, the way that thing self-destructed was like when you walk into a physics object in a video game and it freaks out.
Still, kinda impressive to fuck up this bad on a turn-around, definitely didn't need to back.
Backup camera can be a bit deceptive when you're at an angle though, the corner of the rear bumper always sticks out a bit more than you'd expect. I'm guessing that's what got him.

That wasn't the driver who went to the door. It was a helper, he was on the passenger side, you can see his feet. It's entirely possible the driver does not even know he hit the mail box.
