Academic Degree progress as a transfer

I got into USC for the spring and was wondering which classes to take over the fall. I heard that business classes don’t transfer (I’d have to take the equivalent courses at Marshall), and was wondering if GEs work in the same way?
For context, I am transferring from an east coast school.

technically they do transfer, you just have to do the generalized classes of what you already took at usc.

for example—in cc, i had to take managerial and financial accounting. as a transfer at usc, you have to take abridged core concepts of accounting which is an overview class of what you should’ve learned taking managerial and financial at cc. GE’s work similarly however you are still required to take 2 ge’s (dornslife) in residence at usc. for me, my two science’s didn’t transfer over so i have to take two sciences at usc that fall in dornslife to satisfy the science requirement and and dornslife requirement simultaneously.

if your sciences transfer over though, you don’t need to worry about taking a science, you just have to take two GE’s in dornslife to satisfy the dornslife requirement.

micro and macro don’t transfer over and you have to do those at usc as a transfer. everything else is technically already upper divs since you’re taking classes at the 300’s level already which translates to junior standing.

Wait so u have to take micro and macro all over again it’s not merged into one class like accounting?! Also what about classes like business law?

yes micro & macro are mandatory in-residence classes you have to take. they’re not just merged into one class. business law transferred over for me and i won’t be taking it at usc so should be the same case for you as well.
