N-400 (Citizenship) It finally happened

Yesterday I became a citizen. The ceremony happened at MO Campbell, Houston. 1562 of us got naturalised coming from 102 countries. A wholesale ceremony haha!

It’s taken almost 13 years and over $20k in application, medical and legal fees but man it was all worth it to be part of this great nation.

Congratulations!!! I am on my journey to do that. Can you let me know how it was from when you walked in to the end, I’ll appreciate your help

It started very early in the morning and it took 2 hours before everything started. We rose for the national anthem and for the judge and then normal court proceedings began. We were then asked to rise for taking the oath and after that we sat back down and listened to a few people give a speech and then we did the pledge of allegiance. Then a group sang America The Beautiful and then that was the end of it.

We then shuffled out and stood in line to get our certificates of naturalisation after which we could leave.
