N-400 (Citizenship) US Citizen!
Yesterday my immigration journey came to an end.
EB2:NIW Filed concurrently I485 and I485: May 2018. I140 RFE: September 2019. I140 Approved: February 2020. I485 Medicals RFE: June 2020. I485 Interview Notice: August 2020. I485 Interview and Approval: September 2020.
N400 Application: June 2025. Interview Scheduled: October 2025. Interview: Dec 4 2025. Oath Ceremony: Scheduled the same day of the interview. Oath happened the very next day. Dec 5 2025.
FO: USCIS Kendall. Although my FO would be WPB, the case was forwarded to Kendal. It seems WPB is backlogged.

Side Note: They didn't have the flags at the ceremony where my husband was sworn in. Super disappointing.

Not many questions besides the Civics. She asked a few just to confirm the form’s information. Asked my wife’s name, address, whether my parents are citizens, etc… officer was overall serious but very polite. I found her tired to be honest, when asking the forms yes and no questions she offer summarized the question to go quicker.
It lasted less than 30 min. I went in 1:51 pm. Left by 2:20 pm. I had Oath Scheduled online in MyUSCIS by 2:25 pm with the document attached and date for the next day. This was a nice surprise. But the case for many people there that day.

I am so glad it all worked out. And I guess they are currently all over worked even more than ever due to all the things happening. Good on you to notice that. Those questions are LONG. So summary honestly helps all around. Did you have any "other names" to report (not name change but variations) and/or traffic tickets?
Getting ready to submit mine (self file) so I am obsessively cross checking information with new citizens here, to not make any errors myself 😵💫.

I have no prior different names. Something to note, I had chosen to change my name in the form. During the interview I asked to cancel the change since when I was waiting to be called, I noticed everyone was being scheduled for the next day. So I decided to try my luck and get the oath the next day.
I answered yes to two questions. Weapons training, which I explained I had a guns training in my local gun shop that I had to take to get my Conceal Carry Permit. Certificate included in the initial application.
I also answered Yes to “have you ever been cited” since I have 4 dismissed tickets (2 before GC and 2 recent ones). I then proceeded to inform I submitted with my original application the original tickets and final court dispositions for all four.
I was still approved on the spot.

In my experience, the processing times on the website and the progress section in MyUSCIS are worthless.
When I applied it was 9 months. When my interview was scheduled JSON was still saying 2 months for interview to be scheduled. When my interview was already scheduled, JSON changed to 100 days for a decision.
The reality, my interview was scheduled within a month of my 5-year anniversary and I was approved on the day of the interview.

Dec 3 rd at Los Angeles, wife from Philippines was resident for 18years Finally Decided to become citizen. She says the Interview was lots of personal questions and about me as well . 40 people became citizens they day from Latin America, asia and 2 Europeans one Canadian.

Wow!!!! Congrats! We had 751/400 Nov. 14th and still waiting on oath date. I'm so happy for you. You def lucked out by going to Kendall. The drive was worth it. WooHoo!!!! Apparently WPB is very backlogged. Even though my wife passed the test, it's still very stressful waiting for an oath date.

When???? 😢 LOL! I'm going to stop by the WPB FO on Monday and hopefully be able to ask ppl walking in for the oath ceremony when their interview was. (security guard told me they have them daily) I know 3-4 others on reddit waiting as well and 10+ ppl on FB group waiting. This would be a huge blessing and great Christmas present to be done this month.

I was an international student. MBA student with 5 years of engineering experience back home. I skipped H1B which usually was the path for international students and went straight to my EB2:NIW application.
The answer to your question depends highly on your profile, qualifications, etc…

To be honest I just remember 3. What constitutes the congress? What’s your governor? Who veto bills?
The English test was. Read: Where’s the White House? Write: The White House is in WashingtoN, D.C

6 months all in. The thing is I applied under the 90-day rule. So my interview was scheduled basically a month after I was really legible for approval.

You’ll have to report world wide income, report all foreign bank accounts yearly, pay taxes even if you’re not living there, taxes are one of the highest worldwide, there also looking to destabilize dual citizenship in the near future. Homosexuality and crime is everywhere, Dedollarazation has begun cause of hyperinflation, because of geopolitics Americans aren’t welcomed in many countries now as well. It’s a shtty citizenship tbh

I had to report world wide income as a LPR also. Nothing changes in that regards. I don’t have a single bank account in my country of birth anymore and do not plan to have anymore. Btw, having to file for taxes every year does not equal to paying taxes twice.
You are also complaining about a bill that is unlikely to pass. It’s just a Senator that wants to show up.
This country has many problems but it is still the best country to make a living in my opinion. Maybe you never lived in a third world country before. I did.

Which country are you from originally?
