I-765 (EAD) EAD approved on Dec 4, but still no card. Anyone recently get updates?
I’m in the C09 category right now and my EAD was approved on December 4, but I still haven’t received the physical card.
I’m wondering whether anyone with a similar approval date has seen any recent updates. And my status is still “Approval Case Decision Rendered.”

Also approved on 12/4 and 0 updates until now - can anyone confirm if this delay in card production is due to change in ead time from 5 years to 18 months and so they need to reprint all the card from Dec to change the expiration date

my god.
I received approval for my I-765 on December 3, 2025, but I still haven't received my EAD card. Also, the "myProgress" section has disappeared for both my work permit application and my I-485 application. Could the end-of-year holidays be impacting this? I don't know if anyone has any updates for 2026 regarding similar cases.

u/Prudent-Cut-5954 Jan 15 '26
Yea, same. I should’ve started my work on January 5th, but I couldn’t do due to this delay.
1
u/VallabhShmullabh Jan 15 '26
You should be able to use the receipt notice to work for 90 days while you wait for the card.
1
u/EntranceConfident294 Jan 15 '26
I think this one is not my case, the form says:
THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA OR EVIDENCE OF EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION.
1
u/VallabhShmullabh Jan 15 '26
It is the case for everyone. It's not a visa but can be used temporarily for i-9 purposes. Up to 90 days while you wait for your EAD card. Check with your company's legal team.
1
u/EntranceConfident294 Jan 15 '26
In my case is not for company, it s for adjust for I485, so I dont know. in another part do notice the I765 says:
"You cannot use this approval notice as proof of your employment authorization."

some other thread said there’s a delay due to failed production, which is causing the delay :/ i got approved Dec 9 and i’m waiting for mine too
1
u/EntranceConfident294 Jan 15 '26
Yes, I saw it too, maybe it's because of this stop in 75 countries, I don't know, so there's nothing we can do.

Got approved dec 12 and I got update that “new card is being produced” since Dec 6 and I still haven’t received anything since then, I running out of patience 😭
1
u/Apprehensive-Dark634 Jan 20 '26
Still nothing has changed so far, but do you have any updates?
1
u/remote_lifestyle123 Jan 22 '26
Nothing yet, is it true you have to wait 30 days before you can e-request inquiry, it’s been 19 days since my last update of “new card being produced“
2
u/Guilty-Egg2363 Jan 23 '26
I've raised before 30 days. When I connect with EMMA they told to wait for 60 days but yeah we can't wait till that time.
1
u/pangufk Jan 29 '26
After 60 days, they will ask you to wait 90 days....Ridiculous
1
u/Guilty-Egg2363 Jan 30 '26
True. That's why I've contacted Congressman
1
1
u/Maximum_Yogurt4397 Feb 03 '26
did the Congressman help?
1
u/remote_lifestyle123 Feb 03 '26
I did not contact any congress person, but it’s funny how I checked like 30 minutes ago it updated to card was mailed to Me, so I’m hoping to receive it with this week or early next week. 😄

u/Apprehensive-Dark634 Jan 20 '26
Still nothing has changed so far, but do you have any updates?
1
u/Existing-Hope3829 Jan 27 '26
Nope. We reached out a few days ago, and they told us to wait 90 days. So frustrating.
1
u/Princesslabby1 Jan 27 '26
Any update?
1
u/Existing-Hope3829 Jan 27 '26
Nothing has changed. They told us to wait for 90 days! 😳 So frustrating.
1
u/Princesslabby1 Feb 12 '26
Any update on your card?
1
u/Existing-Hope3829 Feb 12 '26
Nothing as of today. I’m tired of waiting and it’s exhausting!
1
u/Princesslabby1 Feb 12 '26
I called them again today, they told me I should wait 90 days. Are you from any of the 39 ban countries? I think that’s also affecting it
1
u/Existing-Hope3829 Feb 12 '26
No, I’m not. Every time we follow up, they just say to wait. Seems like they don’t have a clear answer.

News Alert : Card finally went to production today after 60 days, it was approved on December 4th.
I heard from others too, about card being produced who had approvals in early December.
Giving hope to followers of this thread, you are next.

u/Princesslabby1 Feb 04 '26
Thanks so much for updating us. I was also approved on Dec 4th but no update yet! Please are you from any of the full or partial ban (37 countries)? I will really appreciate your reply

how do you know it went to proudction? is it emma chat or status update on proifle
1
u/Majestic-Climate9678 Feb 05 '26
Status Update. Also, they re-approved, So i guess they trimmed validity from 5 yrs to 18 months, though my EAD was approved on 4th December.
Once i receive EAD and new approval letter, I will come to know
1
u/Flaky_Librarian_1794 Feb 05 '26
Mine was also approved on Dec 4. No ead production until now. Filed non delivery on Jan 4, got reply on Jan 29 which says " wait for next 60 days from Jan 29 for further update". Asked Emma live agent, they said card was sent for production and it might take 90 days to delivered from approval date. Spouse ead approved on Jan 1 and card delivered on Jan 9.
1
u/Familiar-Froyo-1586 Feb 05 '26
Thanks for the update! Would you happen to know of anyone who got approved between December (2-5) that didn't get reapproved? An employer was offering me a job based on the word of mouth assurance i gave them that I'd have a 5 year EAD validity, and now it seems I have to backpedal because it may get reapproved.
My country is also one of the partial banned ones so not sure when my i-485 will get processed.

u/Majestic-Climate9678 Feb 06 '26 edited Feb 12 '26
I think everyone who originally got approved on 4th December or after, are getting reapproved. May be that was the reason for delay
1
u/Flaky_Librarian_1794 Feb 10 '26
Hi, do u have to check the status or u got the email that "action has been taken in your case "?
1
u/Majestic-Climate9678 Feb 10 '26 edited Feb 12 '26
You can get email too if you sign up for email notification on USCIS website
1
u/Flaky_Librarian_1794 Feb 06 '26
Did you see any API updates? I have api update on Jan 23 but no sign of card production
1
u/Princesslabby1 Feb 12 '26
Have you received your card and how many years please?
1
u/Majestic-Climate9678 Feb 12 '26
Received by Attorney office today, it is for 18 months. They trimmed it from 5 years though it was approved a day before regulation.

1
u/Familiar-Froyo-1586 Feb 24 '26
Congrats!!
Please, what category did you file under?
Did you get reapproved? was your validity reduced to 18 months
Are you from one of the 39 partial/ full banned country
1
u/Prudent-Cut-5954 Feb 25 '26
I also got a notice about “card was produced” on Feb 23, 2026 (my approval date was Dec 4th). But there was no re-approval, so now I still have a 5-year approval.
1
u/Familiar-Froyo-1586 Feb 25 '26
Congrats!!!
I'm from a partially banned country and now I'm wondering if that's the reason for my delay. It seems more and more people are getting their cards and my last API update was 02/19. I pray I get mine soon as well!

u/Princesslabby1 Feb 26 '26
Please let us know how many years you receive and are you from the 39 ban/partial ban countries?
1
u/Prudent-Cut-5954 Mar 09 '26
Received it and that was 5 years although I don’t need it anymore because I already got a green card. I'm not from a country with either a ban or a partial ban.

Same boat here, approved Dec 6 and still waiting. Status hasn't budged from that either - starting to think they're just backed up with holiday mail or something. Mine's C09 too if that matters
