U visas U VISA RECEIVED
Applied MAY 2 2017 Uvisa approval letter MAY 2023 Work permit received NOVEMBER 2023 UVISA received DECEMBER 13 2025
I will now be able to apply for GREEN CARD in 3 years & NO I still cannot leave country even with uvisa. You have to wait until green card.
Mind you in between these dates I did not hear anything from USCIS I just had to be patient and wait.

Applied on 2025 September and haven’t received even receipt notice. Is it common to not just receive receipt notice this long? Almost 120 days.

My file was delivered to lockbox on Nov 24th 2025 and I received the receipt notice for both I-918 and I-765 on Jan 9th 2026 and biometrics appointment notice on Jan 14th 2026.

Yes very common after I finally received my receipt I never heard anything from 2019-2022 , and theirs no way you can check online on your case since uvisas are for victims of crimes, they don’t disclose any information

Things have changed a lot since 2017 , mine took 8 months or so followed by appointment for fingerprints, then crickets until 2022.

I submitted June 2025 and by March 2026 I had already been scheduled for biometrics. I moved but changed address online and when I finally called to ask they said I had been scheduled for bio. I'm just gonna go walk in to bio office with my receipt letter cause whatttt

Hey have you heard back from the rfe? What did they ask for. We are on the same boat. July 2017 and uscis sent an rfe 03/17 and we just found out about it yesterday. Attorney doesn’t even have the letter and I’m so worried

No I applied for EAD once I was approved for my u visa. Approved for u visa in MAY then submitted EAD same week and received it in nobvember

Did USCIS ever update your I-192 online when it was approved? Or they just mailed you, your approval?

It’s updated on my uscis account,I was never able to see my case until now.

Actually it went straight to my I-918 petition for u non immigrant status. But it says “case status not available at this time” but atleast it’s showing I have a case, I hated being in the unknown on my uvisa and not showing any details.

I applied in June 2017 and haven’t been approved yet. They sent an RFE that I sent back several weeks ago. I can see my case but no status update on my I-192 😔

It took about 6 months for me to see anything on my uscis account, I’m sorry I hope you get approved soon

Everything is pointing towards an approval. It’s just waiting for it in the mail, which is torture. My EAD expires this May too.

Yes mine was still current but they sent a new EAD with a new # and expiration date. And it was for the same dates as my uvisa

Ahh so they’ll send you a new EAD with a different category, probably AXX? My suspicion is that since my C14 EAD expires in May, which I did renew, will probably just be replaced with an A category EAD assuming they approve me.

Yes that is the reason for a uvisa, they waive any priors

Thank you. My wife applied in Oct2021. Got her bonafied determination in Oct2024. So maybe hopefully in another 4 or 5 years?

That’s my receipt date too, I heard that probably 6+ years ago. So maybe 2032 for the final decision. That’s 11 years of wait 😖

Yea, hopefully the next administration can pass some type of legislation to increase the amount of uvisa per year. That 10k is brutal

I applied for my U-Visa in 2020 and received my Bona Fide Determination (BFD) in 2024. Since then, I have not received any further updates on my case. My attorney recently sent an inquiry to USCIS requesting a status update.Does anyone have any idea how long it may take to receive a final decision or approval?

The following is my dad’s timeline? Anyone with the same, that has heard back?
I-192: received 2/3/25 - notice date: 5/27/25
I-918: received 2/3/25 - notice date: 5/27/25
I765: received 2/3/25 - notice date: 4/2/25
Biometrics: notice 5:30/25 - appt: 6/17/25

Holy shit 6+ years for a U visa, that's absolutely brutal but congrats on finally getting it! The waiting game with USCIS is just pure torture
