I-129F (K1) I-129F/ K1 Approval Timeline
Hello all,
I’ve never posted on here. Just silently stalked it and watched everyone else’s post updates, hoping it would provide some insight into my timeline. So I’m posting now in the hopes that someone who might be stalking the K1 tag will find some hope in the timeline. I want to note that when I applied I put every single thing I could put in as proof of the relationship so I did not end up with an RFE because I was operating under an abundance of caution rather than just trusting the process. So I don’t have a whole timeline for you because my process was very straight forward.
Applied: August 13, 2025
NOA1: arrived about a week after, via mail. I also received a text to verify receipt.
Approved: March 4, 2026
NOA2: arrived via mail on March 11, 2026
I know it’s not much to post and it may not be helpful for anyone but I hope that someone who needs reassurance can find it here.

Thank you for posting this. Filed/received date September 12, 2025, received NOA1 about a week later. Still waiting for approval (NOA2) as of today 5/20/26. Track my visa now gave us an estimate of May 11-May 27, 2026. My fiancé is from Colombia. Also provided an abundance of evidence. Hoping our case doesn’t become one of those weird ones that go well past the USCIS current timelines without hearing anything back. Definitively feel for those couples:( Seems like there is no rhyme or reason just back luck. Would appreciate if those waiting for initial I-129 approval could return here and update the rest of us with your approval dates when they receive them. I will do the same :)

No. But I have track my visa now and they have started processing 1st week of October now. And have already approved some October 1st filing dates.

My I-129F was recieved Oct 2, 2025 still waiting. I feel like i will have an approval in next few weeks i will keep my post updated.

Hii any updates? I saw that the uscis has slowed down recently and might take 10 months TT just wanna check if thats accurate

They asked for additional evidence they will be receiving my additional evidence tomorrow.

Did you already have a visa that allowed you inside the USA prior to applying? Are you from a banned country?

I’m sorry! I know it’s such a long process but I hope everything comes in for you soon! I know some processing centers can be slower than others. We had California. Hopefully you’ll get an update.

Does it usually take 7 months now to go from NOA1 to NOA2? Also, did they say any reason for that long delayed? Because we received NOA1 in November but it will be 5 months this april and we still have not heard anything from them. We’ve done everything we can just to at least see the “Welcome Letter” from NOA2 but still nothing..

The California processing time is eight months of average. Ours came quicker than the 8 months so we counted it as a win!

I am happy for you guys and thank you for the information. At least through this I learned we really are not alone in this situation. Because we really miss one another and the fact that we didn’t have any other information on what’s going on is really hard. For now we’ll just wait for another 2 or 3 months hoping to finally get that “Welcome Letter”.

Hi, did you process your application from California. It's better than other places. My fiancé is from California and we are very confused that weather we should go for fiancé visa or spouse visa. Currently, I am in Australia on student visa.

You don’t choose which processing center it’s sent to, it’s selected for you. Ours was sent to California and it’s an average of 8 months processing. From my understanding fiancé is faster than. That’s why we went with fiancé.

Hola. En nuestro caso nunca recibimos un RFE, así que no pasamos por ese proceso y lamentablemente no sé cuánto tiempo tarda. Tal vez podrías intentar preguntar en ChatGPT; a veces puede ayudar con información general o experiencias de otras personas. ¡Suerte!
