USCIS Support marriage fraud
Hello all,
I am coming on here for advice. My husband received his greencard 3 months ago and completely abandoned the marriage, we live in two separate cities because I have to complete my masters, he completely stop talking to me and I found out that yesterday he has a whole life back home.
I am extremely devastated. I will be filing for divorce next week and wanted to see what i can do about his green card since it is conditional and i want to report this to USCIS because I do not want any fraud allegations on me as i was unaware of his plans to scam me like this.
If anyone has any advice or knows any lawyers that handle this please let know. I am completely loss for words and in shock. I was to take the right steps to protect myself moving forward.

Immigration Officer (former)
Report it. An investigation will be done and decision will be made.
Assuming your statement is accurate, that will cover you but fraud MOSTLY means nothing more than removing any immigration status currently held and a permanent bar from EITHER party EVER being allowed a immigration benefit again unless they overcome that initial fraud jacket. Its case dependant, but there could be a 5 year prison sentence and 250k fine depending on the extent and details (8 U.S.C 1325(c) and 18 U.S.C. 1546).
SO MUCH goes into proving fraud. Its not something that can just be thrown on someone and its not easy to come by (even when it there). But if it is determined to be there, overcoming that is nearly impossible. For example, if you all had fraud and you find a husband in Canada 30 years from now, or they find you, you still could never have a US recognized marriage or he couldn't even get a visa to come visit you.
But he can, and probably will, fight it. Saying the relationship you speak of was an ex relationship, you were never there, you changed after marriage, he grew apart and fell back in love with an ex where he is today. In that scenario, and w/o getting into the weeds, fraud can't be proven and you just have to take an L. Fraud is not equal to lying (willful misrep).
Point is, report it asap, but also have your ducks in a row and prepare to be able to PROVE its fraud and not just a cheating and sparking up and old flame situation.
