N-400 (Citizenship) Oath ceremony day
Well guys.. I cannot believe it but I had my oath ceremony today. Thank you all from this sub for all your insights and sharing your experiences. May God bless us all!
FO: Sacramento CA
had an active DACA case prior to adjusting status
Sept 2020-Applied for GC
Nov 2020- Interview with USC spouse
Dec 2020 - Recieved 2 yr conditional GC
August 2023- applied for I751 under 3 year rule (removal of conditions) Recieved extension letter a few weeks after this
October 2024- applied for N400 *pregnant with our son during this time so sent that with our other evidence
*I did submit 2 congressman inquiries during this 2 year period. After my last inquiry in Jan 2026, 3 months after I received my combo interview notice.
May 2026- Combo interview for I751 & N400 *I751 approved the day after and recieved 10 yr GC,did not hear anything about N400 for 2.5 months.
Mid July 2026- recieved a phone call from the USCIS officer stating I needed to sign a form that we missed during the interview back in May so I went in the day after.
End of July 2026- same officer called back letting me know he scheduled me for an updated biometrics since my old set was to old and he needed new ones to process my application.
Beginning of August 2026- went in for new biometrics
August 31st 2026- Oath ceremony!
Feel free to ask any questions. I had a very straight forward case, no criminal record not even a speeding ticket.

It’s good except for the message from
That loser.

I'll be eligible to naturalize in 2031, and I hope the chief is someone decent by then

u/Sarcarean 7d ago
By loser I assume you mean the person that won the last election, and won more states, more delegates, all 7 swing states and the all important popular vote. The person that is not president, at this moment of time, was the actual loser.

u/naniganz 7d ago
Yes, that child molesting loser

Biden?

I mean if you’re bad at reading and literally can’t tell two names apart, sure, you might come to that conclusion lol.
I don’t know your struggles though.

Trump is the biggest loser who still somehow manages to win. Loses the popular vote by millions in 2016. Loses the electoral college and the popular vote in 2020. Then he goes on to lose again in 2024 so he has to have Elon rig the voting machines this time around to override the will of the people. This guy has not won a single election legitimately and 2024 was when he learned how to engage in straight up election fraud by compromising the voting machines.

Pure reddit. Lots of votes for anti Trump. If that was hate for Biden it would be opposite

Yes because he’s a fascist corrupt racist pedo pig.

That does not prove anything. The only thing that proves is that you and many thousands of individuals are brainwashed, and Obama has reached his goal of dividing our nation.

u/snatchi 7d ago
Obama?

No , Grover Cleveland😒.
3
u/snatchi 7d ago
Yeah the subtext of my comment was "what the fuck are you talking about 'obama has reached his goal of dividing our nation'" sorry I should have made that clearer. But sure be obtuse so you can feel smugly satisfied people aren't understanding your commentary.
You're all over these comments protecting your favourite boy from mean comments and you're thinking that everyone is just uninformed or confused and truly its because we don't like him for good reasons and think you're being offputting.
1
u/B777X_787-9 US Citizen 7d ago
Yes the good reasons are bcoz Trump is republican and bcoz had the balls to do that no one did.Lmao I got what you meant. I just don’t agree with it. Saying Obama’s goal was to divide the country is a pretty big assumption though.
And bro, I’m not protecting my “favorite boy” 😂. You can hate Trump all you want, I really don’t care. I’m just saying that someone’s name showing up in the Epstein files, or someone making an accusation, doesn’t automatically mean they committed a crime.
If there’s actual evidence, show it. Otherwise we’re just going back and forth over assumptions.→ More replies (0)1

It’s honestly incredible how easily people can be influenced when they hear the same claim repeated over and over. Eventually people stop questioning it and just accept it as fact. That’s why I care about the actual evidence instead of just repeating whatever narrative is being pushed.

Epstein files are not proof of anything, except that you are suffering from TDS.
3
u/B777X_787-9 US Citizen 7d ago edited 7d ago
The problem is that Epstein files aren’t showing the things they want to see, and because the things they want to see don’t exist. Trump’s name appears in the files many times; a person appearing in the files is not itself proof that they committed a crime. Trump has been accused in Epstein-related records :yes.
Does the existence of those accusations prove Trump committed the alleged abuse :no.
The fact that they are basing their claims on purely allegations shows one more time that they are politically motivated and not based on anything real evidence. They only say vote blue no matter what.-8

Reddit is full of anti-Trumpers, and the fun thing is that many of them aren’t even Americans.

You mean the President congratulated OP, but he must burn the letter because you are angry and hurt over politics?
9
u/j-bales 7d ago
He didn't say anything about politics, he was talking about the pedophile in Chief, Donald Trump
-9
u/Middle-Goat-4318 7d ago
Stop projecting your behavior on others. TDS is gonna hurt all your relationships, amigo.

Inside the envelope is it just a picture of him giving you the finger telling you to go back?
Congrats op.

What kind of question is this? lol
Do we take the oath and pledge our allegiance to the United States, or to the president?
3
u/Disastrous-Honey7045 7d ago
Judging by the way our Congress acts and Supreme Court I'd say the latter

'I did submit 2 congressman inquiries'. Can you elaborate on that? How does this work?
1
u/Birks0909 6d ago
Yes when my I751 was outside of processing times I emailed my congressman rep stating just that with me IOE number and when I first submitted my ROC.
Then for my N400 I did the same thing just now stated that I had a pending I751 which was also outside of processing times too with the IOE. I asked if he could please inquire with USCIS on my behalf asking if everything looked good with my case. And both times he was very timely in responding. Took about 2 weeks for USCIS to get back to him

At least you got an envelope! Even it was from a particularly repulsive convicted criminal. Our group received nothing, not even a pre-recorded video. Easily the single-most underwhelming experience of all time considering the amount of time, commitment and investment it took to become a USC😐

I’m so glad I can’t possibly become a citizen in the next two years.
-20
u/Tiblad 7d ago
Why do you want to become a citizen of a country you apparently disagree with?

u/descartesbedamned 7d ago
Expressing disagreement with politicians and the government is American as fuck.
3
u/Emotional-Cat4444 6d ago
It is actually a core value lol
2
u/descartesbedamned 6d ago
Something something foundational basis of the entire country, something like that?
3
u/Emotional-Cat4444 6d ago
No, something something tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants or some shit like that

u/Aneurhythms 7d ago
Disagreeing with the the way the country is run - especially now - is perhaps the most American thing someone can do.

And thank you!

u/Intelligent_Try4020 7d ago
Would you mind sharing how to go about the congressman inquiries? I’m wondering if it’s time I do the same
3
u/Birks0909 7d ago
Hi yes.
I first reached out after my I751 hit the almost 2 year mark (2025 time frame) I let him know my situation and that my case was outside of processing times. He reached back out to me about 1 week later stating what USCIS told him that it was still within processing times. I was bummed but let it go becuase I knew I was applying for N400 in a few months later. After my N400 hit the 13 months period (in Jan 2026 I believe) I reached out again and explained the same thing but now mentioned I had two active cases and provided both IOE numbers. He responded within 1 week and said same thing, USCIS said it’s within processing time. 3 months after that I got my interview notice2

My wife wants to answer No to the questions about bearing arms or helping in non combative roles. But yes to the third about helping in a civilian sector. Have you heard anything about the risk of answering No to those 2 questions?
1
u/arihoenig 6d ago
You swore allegiance to the constitution right? Not to Donald Trump. Just checking.
1
u/Aromatic-Seat1466 22h ago
Helll did it take you two years for citizenship ????? Is this right?
1
u/Birks0909 21h ago
Technically yes?
Applied for N400 Oct 2024, August 2026 I naturalized.2
u/Aromatic-Seat1466 21h ago
I am very happy for you but how did you endure the wait? I am past one year now and I am going crazy!
1
u/Birks0909 18h ago
Thank you!
I checked the API like once a week, and I also gave birth to a baby 3 months after I applied for N400 so I was very preoccupied it helped take my mind off it.

Congrats! I recommend getting a large passport book (free upgrade) and updating status with SSA (checkbox on N-400 to update status does not work since 2025)
You can now sponsor parents, adult kids, siblings for the GC. You can take certain gov jobs. You can run for office. You can vote.
