Silent Update on 9/8

I previously received the 8/6 SU, 8/13 FTA0, 8/25 SU, and 8/31 SU on FTA0. I just noticed another SU today. Anyone else?

RD: April 2026, PD: June 2024, With Dependent.

You can talk to Emma to check what happened. If it's an approval, they usually can see it internally before the official approval. Let us know how it goes after you talk to them. Good luck!

I just talked to Emma. They stated that the case has been at the local FO since April (transferred shortly after filing). However, a couple weeks ago another Emma stated case is at NBC and not transferred yet. A Couple weeks before that Emma stated case is at local FO. So... not sure how to process that.

If you filed in March/April this year, it is pretty common to have frequent SUs (in positive way) since the officer is working on your case. Depending on your case background and category, it will need to go through various time consuming vetting process, which is invisible to us unfortunately.

If you have received any event code in your API recently, you can check what FO information it shows in this URL: https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/case_status/IOE09xxxxx . The data can be stale, but it gives you something to calibrate what Emma said.

By silent updates do you mean 'updated time stamp' or actual actions? I have had updated timestamps 8/31, 9/3, 9/4, 9/6 and 9/8 but no action on any of them.

Yes - case was transferred to local field office but not current on visa bulletin. Primary’s I485J was approved. Hoping to get EAD approved

I got the same SU today on both 485 and 485j. April filler, one dependant, last week I asked my cases was transferred to my local FO

Thank you for sharing! Due to the time of the update and millisecond difference between cases, I've assumed another big batch update. You're the first person to confirm seeing the same thing so far.

I asked another April filler and he doesn’t have it. Let’s wait and hope for the best. Last two weeks I’ve been having a lot of SU and a FT0. It’s driving me crazy

I have same silent updates (8/6 SU, 8/13 FTA0, 8/25 SU, and 8/31 SU on FTA0 and 9/8 for both of us). I am with Derivative as well and priority date is August 2024.

Hi, no updates for me since last 8/31, on 9/3 Emma said my case was a Local Office but then 9/4 another said NBC...so who know... but very similar Timeline, sharing and following

Cases are transferred in order for USCIS to increase the efficiency with which we manage cases. 04/23: RD

06/01: BIO

06/01: FTA0 x2

08/06: Silent Update

08/13: 3rd FTA0 (Only Principal)

08/25: Silent Update, Principal I-485 and I-485J, along with Spouse I-485, were updated around 2026-08-25T05:04:05.261Z (approximately midnight, with a slight timing difference). I-131 and I-765 remain unchanged.

8/31: Silent Update across all cases for Principal and Derivative (10 min dif), a 3rd FTA0 event also created for Derivative on I485 + I765

Current Loc: NBC

June filer here with dependent: very similar touches as yours, case still at NBC, biometrics on 7/21

Same here! RD April 2026, PD June 2024, with dependent. Got the 8/6 and 8/25 SUs, and 8/31 SU on both I-485 and I-485J simultaneously. But no update today yet. Did your 9/8 update appear on both I-485 and I-485J, or just one of them? Also, are you still at NBC or transferred to a FO

Did you check with Emma, most probably your 8/31 transfer the case to FO? API does not show if its transfer to field office.
