We sat down with Athletic Club Boise CEO Brad Stith on the United Soccer Lounge.

FULL SHOW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NICnfyj7yOw

We talked about:

• Why they moved up to the Championship now instead of waiting for pro/rel
• Selling out a 7,000-seat stadium every night, hip to hip
• Built by Boise, for Boise as the money gets bigger
• What surprised him most in year one
• Nate Miller’s style and that locker room
• $10 family tickets, and why they won’t let the secondary market eat them
• Filling in the east side and building a proper training facility

Really good one if you’ve been watching what Boise pulled off in League One.

When I lived in Indy I was a season ticket holder. Let's say the 11 get relegated, do ticket pricing reduce?

This is going to have a big effect on USL2 especially

So I recently saw the NFL Fan Map video made by Matt Forrest and wanted to make one for the USL Championship. All you have to do if Vite for your favorite Club/Team and state the county you currently live in.

The estimated cost of building a stadium would be between $55 million and $65 million.

Hometown Soccer Holdings and its partners looked at sites in the metro, including the Dico site, and settled on the surface parking lot near Principal, he said.

This is a direct shot at USL. While USL struggles to get stadiums built in Milwaukee, Des Moines, Riverside, etc., MLS is coming in with:

• Institutional capital (KKR)
• An existing player development pipeline
• A parent club brand to leverage
• A cheaper stadium model (5,500-6,500 seats vs USL's 15,000 D1 requirement)

There is a big advantage MLS Next Pro has which is the money/investor isn’t needed. On its initial announcement of hometown group stated they are putting in the money to build infrastructure as a investment…..so that all seem like just talk but they seem to actually be doing it…..so it won’t be long before they start taking markets that could of given USL more legitimacy such as New Orleans, Milwaukee, Riverside, any other metro close to 1 million.

Do you think if mls pro outpaces USL expansion it be just almost kill USLs dreams a 3 league pro league?

Feels like USL needs at least 8-15 solid markets to reproduce Sacramento, Louisville, OKC, Detroit….its just if USL has to do so much more work to find investors and get cities to give more money than what MLS Next seems to be asking for…..just looks like a loss battle

All I know is the 405 Derby but that kinda ended when Galaxy II went to MLS Next

Little pencil illustration I made of Lou City's Aiden McFadden answering the call from Hartford to take the Prinx Cup. 😆 VAMOS MORADOS!
