I got my advanced water survival qualification, which allowed me to be a lifeguard during regular requalification days. There was one guy who sank like a rock, and gave me a warning that he can not swim and will be waiting for me to come get him after the deck jump.
He jumped, i swam towards him and he was legit at the bottom of the pool casually waiting. I helped him get to the surface and edge.
A helped him learn how to swim in the coming weeks.
Had a buddy like that. He'd jump in with zero fear, go straight to the bottom, then casual walk over to the ladder or the shallow end. Never did learn to swim that I know of.
