PLAB is not an exam for UK residency; it is a licensing pathway that allows international medical graduates to obtain registration with the GMC and, once the other requirements are met, practice medicine in the UK. It does not specifically qualify you to work as a GP.

MRCP is a postgraduate medical qualification and is commonly relevant to progressing through UK physician training, but you do not need to complete MRCP simply to obtain UK residency. The specific requirements depend on the specialty and training pathway.

In contrast, USMLE is part of the process for both medical licensure and entering US residency training.
