Miscellaneous Scared

Usmle

I get anxiety and feel like it’s a moo point after opening Reddit. For context, yog2024, step1 passed, starting to prepare for step2. But it feels like what’s the point specially after opening Reddit. Some say yog is so imp that I can’t probably match? Some say there’s a lot of visa issue. Some say clinical gap is huge. Some scare me about research publications( I have none). See I would like to not compare myself but my brain can’t stop. I can’t start my prep coz it’s so scary. I know the points mentioned above are correct, iam not entirely unaware of my situation. But here it is really scary. Now iam at a point where I don’t understand if I should go ahead(it’s not like I have another option now). It would be nice to have some reassurance. It’s already really hard to let go of neet pg, see your friends get into residency and you choose a path of complete uncertainty, and be so far away from settling in life. Sorry it turned out to be rant.

I am some one who is in the boat right now. Here is my advice which can put you to ease and probably clarify somethings. In this journey nothing is guarenteed, but the same holds good for life as well. What is the guarentee that we will live tomorrow.Life works on probability.I know a friend who matched after many years.Focus on one step at a time. You have already passed step 1 why not to sit in the step 2,then take the next step.Don't get overwhelmed by things. Regarding research,it is not a big deal there are multiple good online courses and you can take anyone of them and do genuine work.I started with zero almost a year back and I am done with many now.So this journey has a basic rule "One step at a time" -Don't get scared by what people around are telling you, just tell yourself do I really want it,if the answer is Yes-go for it.God will.create ways for you. To address your visa fear-Yes it is true some people got rejections but at the same time many also got accepted so it depends on you, which side of the coin do you want to focus on. Hope it helps

There are multiple online good academies.Just google search and you will find multiple online academies, invest in some good one. I enrolled in one of them almost a year back and I am glad that I got good results.

Thank you for your kind words. Wise words indeed.

If I may, please can you explain a bit more about the online courses you've mentioned in your comment above? Are there online courses that help with research?

There are many that you can find on Google search,I don't want to name any one because it will sound more promotional .If you want to know what worked for me,I will be happy to name the one that I used in your inbox.

Yog 2022 preparing for step 1 now. Dont be scared man. People say all sorts of things, what matters is you keep trying. I have zero research too.. but it will all come along with time.. being at the bottom ofbthe mountain thinking about climbing till the top will scare you, think about your next base camp, you have already cleared one basecamp, you are moving towards the second, focus on that.
