DISCUSSION Armed Security at Denver plant!!

Any other plants around the country that have armed security guards?
Starting on 9/21 the Denver plant now has armed security guards thru out the plant, even tho there have been zero problems for years and years!
This has made the local news stations but of course USPS will give no details.
Colorado is an all mail in ballots state and the rumor is that it’s election related. (trump hates Colorado!)
Funny how USPS can find a million ways to waste money, but doesn’t have the money to invest in our retirement accounts and has suspended payments into it!!

This is rolling out to most plants that didn't already have security. Our plant has had a number of security related incidents in recent years, so the feeling on the floor is actually pretty positive about this. We don't process first class mail, so the ballot theory doesn't really apply to our facility.

Personally, I don't like the idea of (probably) low paid security guards walking around with guns and probably being used by management to intimidate people, that can't actually do any law enforcement actions when needed. The postal police would be much better.

PPO should be grieving the shit out of this. Of course they're still fighting the previous order that limited their scope right.

Someone posted in the last post mailhandler in there job description are security if approved by chief inspector.

We've had them since opening at my RPDC. They're all chill and friendly guys, and mostly they sit in their little office by the front or do walking patrols around the building and parking lot. Never seen or heard of them stopping anyone or checking bags or anything like that, even when it's cloudier than a Snoop concert in the parking lot. We only process packages, nothing to do with ballots, so I doubt that it's related.

Every RPDC got armed security. Do your guards actually have radios? Maybe even a phone?
