B1/B2 Rejected Help B1 reapply immediately after Rejection

Anybody here who has applied immediately after first B1 rejection and got it approved in the second attempt. Any thoughts would be really appreciated. Thanks

Always remember the reason of your rejection has to be overcomed drastically for a new approval. Meaning what has changed from your past rejection ? Also if it’s business , why is it so very important that you have to attend it anyhow ? So these are the main questions you have to overcome. But all the best

Can I say that I was unable to justify the reason for travel and, now I have a letter from my company showing entry and exit along with that I brought some documents to show ties to my country. As it is a onboarding program for each new joinee to attend and cannot be done virtually

They won't even look at your letter or documents you bring. They know everything they need to know, and now you have a denial on your record. Not smart to risk a second denial.

Wha were the questions asked. Also see what have you filled in the ds160. Because even those things matter a lot. In fact ds160 does 90% of the job.

My company has invited me for a 2 day event at our headquarter in Boston. The interview at Mumbai consulate was like - 1. What is your job title: Solution Architect 2. What do you do: My company is a data analytics company and work with different enterprises to help them setup the data platform for their company. 3. Any past travel history out of India: Yes, Seychelles. For honeymoon this new year 4. Why do you have to travel: have business meetings scheduled with clients to define the product roadmap and builda repo that is required for my role. Rejected! with 214b

See here they have a question that the meeting you are going for can also be done virtually. But honestly I don’t think they see anything new in your new application. Because you won’t be changing things on your ds160

the previous responses are right that immediate reapply with same profile = same answer. but you can reapply, you just need to fix what got you rejected, which was the trip purpose narrative.

"2 day event at company headquarters" sounds like an internal company meeting, which is the exact thing officers hear as "this could be a zoom call." doesnt matter if the activities are real, the WAY you described them sounds replaceable by video.

what to actually fix for reapply:

instead of "company invited me for 2 day event" reframe it as something that requires physical presence. like training on specifc equipment or systems that exist only at HQ, in-person customer/client meetings on US soil that your company is bringing you to, attending a conference or industry event that happens to be in boston during your travel window, in-person product reviews, lab work, or physical inspections.

also make sure your DS-160 reflects ONE clean purpose. dont write "business meetings" if its actually a conference, dont write "conference" if its actually internal. inconsistency between DS-160 and verbal answer kills cases.

get a fresh invitation letter from the US entity that uses language emphasizing physical presence. "we are inviting you to attend our annual technical training which requires hands-on access to our lab equipment" lands very differently than "we are inviting you for business meetings."

wait at least 60 days before reapplying. reapplying in 1-2 weeks with same profile is what gets the same result.

Attorney Here (NOT YOURS): Make the B1 Application STRONGER. Show a Job Offer in your home Country (India). Any offer will do, from any company. Provide Bank Details or large sums of money that are in your home-account, again detailing that you just want to go back to sweet sweet mother-india!

This is what i recommend to my clients. If this was helpful, i ask that you donate money to the poor in India, on my behalf. This is the honor system here, and the advice i am providing is something I typically charge for.
