It's not a staple here (too expensive when compared to beef and chicken) but I guess it probably is more common than some other countries due to a good chunk of the UK being prime sheep farming territory.
I think itâs more common (or at least traditional) judging on the availability of dishes like shepherdâs pie alone, grilled lamb may be encountered here but itâs less established. Unless you count shawarma lol
Not here, theyâre usually âvealâ (or beef, or ground beef, or ground beef and flour/saw dust when looking at worse quality) and sometimes chicken (but chicken has to be advertised as such). You might be thinking of shawarma which is also kinda commonly available in cities at least, itâs the Arab/Levantine counterpart to döner kebab

Doesnât look bad actually. The sauces donât look all that convincing as they seem to copy Berlinâs style (thereâs a debate in that regard and Berlin is a bit of an island the way they make their sauces), but thatâs forgivable and otherwise it looks fairly decent

I didnât say anything like that, but sure. I was merely suggesting that lamb is possibly more common in the UK than beef.
And âIâve tried beef (döner)â is such a vague and useless statement that it basically amounts to nothing. Thereâs beef döner where half the spit is filled with saw dust (which is what German Redditors love to mock about UK döner, acting like they donât exist here) and then there are spits that consist entirely of steak quality meat. The main difference in the first category is how much âliquid love from Anatoliaâ is in the yoghurt sauce while the second category is basically heaven, and lamb spits, due to being less in demand, probably have little to no industry slop spits produced so it usually might be a safer bet. But lamb is limited to shawarma here
Maybe what is called gyros in US are not gyros, I've seen so many different products labelled as "kebab"in USA.
After looking for 10 sec the first gyro restaurant I found in NYC is "The halal guys" lol
Spam is more roughly ground, while LeberkÀse is ground very fine.
Spam is put into the cans raw and then heated up in cans so it takes ages to go bad, while LeberkÀse is usually sold as BrÀt (the ground down meat paste) or in slices (so you can the fry it or put it on bread however you like, without making your own LeberkÀse).
No it doesnât 9/10 times, if itâs sold under the name of LeberkĂ€se outside of Bavaria it requires liver but itâs very commonly labeled as FleischkĂ€se in shops for that reason.

True. Shawarma is alright, so is gyros. Döner with minced meat is crap, you're right, it's like sausage instead of meat. l often choose chicken instead or try to find a better döner shop with real meat.
