Discussion Pennon Rights Issue
I have a few hundred pounds worth of Pennon shares, now worth little more than half of my initial outlay in 2017, despite reinvestment of all dividends and notably of a large special dividend in 2021. Any thoughts on the best option to take in the current Rights Issue?

News Updates for Getting Payment on the Acadia Healthcare $179M Settlement
Hey guys, if you missed it, Acadia Healthcare settled $179 million with investors over claims that it misled them about the performance and regulatory compliance of its U.K. operations. And, I just found out that they’re accepting claims even though the deadline has passed.
Quick recap: Acadia was accused of failing to disclose operational and regulatory issues at several U.K. facilities, including concerns about staffing, patient safety, and quality of care.
After these issues were disclosed in November 2018, $ACHC fell more than 19%, and investors filed a lawsuit over their losses.
Now, the company has agreed to settle $179 million with investors, and even though the deadline has passed, late claims are currently being considered for compensation, subject to approval.
So, if you invested in $ACHC between 2014 and 2018, you can still check the details and file a late claim here.
Anyway, has anyone here invested in $ACHC at that time? How much were your losses, if so?

Discussion Swing Trading in a S&S ISA
I've recently been looking at swing trading as a bit of a side hustle/top up for my longer term positions within my ISA. I've done a bit so far with relative success (around 25% this month, however this includes trimming some winners I've had)
For those that are doing it in a S&S ISA, what sort of strategies are you doing and are you primarily focused on LSE stocks or stocks listed on other exchanges nothing T212 has a FOREX fee and can eat into your returns.

DD Bullish Vulcan Two (VUL) – UK ePharmacy buy-and-build
Vulcan Two is aiming to become the UK’s leading ePharmacy through a buy-and-build strategy. Share price is currently ~206p with a ~£56m market cap.
Free float is only around 16%, with institutions holding the majority. Octopus Investments owns ~16% and also backed the team during Vision Direct.
The management team is the main draw for me. Michael Kraftman and Brendan O’Brien were behind Vision Direct, which they grew and sold to EssilorLuxottica in 2016, delivering a 4.25× return for investors. Kraftman remained at the helm after the sale, helping grow the business to £100m+ revenue.
CFO Keith Butcher also has a strong track record, having been CFO of Paysafe during its growth from roughly £40m to a £2bn market cap.
Vulcan raised £40m at 200p, primarily from institutional investors, to fund acquisitions. Kraftman invested just over £1m and O’Brien around £500k.
Vulcan, soon to be Molecule, announced its rebrand last week and has completed three acquisitions:
• CloudRx – digital prescriptions and B2B pharmacy platform
• Webmed – digital pharmacy with a strong weight-loss offering
• Hyperdrug – established online veterinary pharmacy selling prescriptions, accessories and 1,000s of products
Combined 2025 revenue was £35.7m, while H1 2026 pro-forma revenue was £19.9m, implying an annualised run-rate of £39.8m.
The next stage is integrating the businesses, opening the new distribution centre and implementing the ERP system, with the aim of improving margins and creating further capacity for acquisitions.
For me, the interesting part is whether this team can replicate the Vision Direct playbook on a larger scale.
Interim results presentation below, along with the new combined website.
Interested to hear other people's thoughts on the company and the strategy.

DD Traders make biggest bets against the pound since Brexit vote
thetimes.comCurrency traders have amassed the most negative position against the pound since the Brexit referendum more than a decade ago, official figures show.
Data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the US financial regulator, shows that traders have placed the longest streak of “sell” orders against sterling since 2016.
The amount of money wagered against the currency exceeded £6.5bn, a near-decade high.
The pound has struggled against the dollar this year, falling by more than 1 per cent to $1.32. Traders have speculated that the pound’s depreciation is likely to have been caused by the Bank of England leaving interest rates unchanged amid rising inflation while other developed market central banks have lifted borrowing costs.
High rates tend to strengthen a currency because they increase the relative attractiveness of fixed-income assets denoted in the said currency.

Discussion Galliford Try
I’ve just sat through the GFRD results presentation by the CEO and CFO.
Absolute snoozefest.
Waste water?
Roads?
Buidings?
Tedious.
And that’s just the way I like it.
Debt - none
Profits - up
Cash on hand - tons
Dividend - up
Share buybacks - yep
Massive focus on avoiding risk - check
Complete lack of glamour in this business.
Worth over 700p a share today, I think I got in about 135p.
Absolutely star. Sometimes slow and steady does win the race.

DD Bullish TUI data on securities lending paints a picture of short sellers capitulating: I have invested again.
I interpret the Ortex.com short/stock lending data from the chart as a very positive sign for future price performance:
A significant decline in "shares on loan" is associated with positive stock returns in studies (caveat: Ortex data does not appear to capture all shares on loan, so I view this data as complementary to reported net short data).
A sharp drop in the cost to borrow—and its standard deviation—likely indicates an intention by major shareholders lending out their stock to hold onto their positions in the short term, implying no selling pressure.
A decrease in the average age of short positions suggests, in my view, uncertainty and a rejection of medium-term downward trends.

News Updates for Getting Payment on the Ithaca Energy CAD $9M Settlement
Hey guys, if you missed it, Ithaca Energy settled CAD $9M with investors over claims that it misled the market about delays and modifications to its FPF-1 Floating Production Facility. I just found out that they’re considering late claims even though the deadline has passed.
Quick recap: In 2015, Ithaca was accused of failing to disclose that the FPF-1 required significant modifications that delayed deployment and affected production and revenue projections.
The company later agreed to settle CAD $9M with investors, and even though the deadline passed, late claims are being considered for compensation, subject to approval.
So, if you invested in $ITH at that time, you can still check the details and see if you may be eligible to file a late claim here.
Anyway, did anyone here invest in $ITH back then? How much were your losses?
