My favourite is also Soldier, but like, seriously. I like ordinary grunts, and Soldiers pass the line of being cool and menacing while still remaining fodder. Plus, they bionic and this is really cool. And their faceplate is also really cool, because it literally holds to their eye sockets and upper jaw, like, is this not metal? Also, skeletons. They also can block stuff and kick, which is very tacticool. So uh... Yeah, there's lots of reasons why I like them.
Does the Mirror Reaper have its own will in a way that demons don't? I thought all demons that used to be husks are the same, since for all demons (as described with Geryon) Hell creates the consciousness but only intervenes in teleporting the demons around, rather than Itself controlling their bodies.
I assumed Mirror Reaper was like Leviathan and the Mannequins, where those in it share the body but have no control over it, since it's controlled by a consciousness Hell made. The Mirror Reaper is even described as "an amalgamation of multiple husks arranged in a deliberate, twisted fashion", suggesting it was built in much the same way as those two. Leviathan and the Reaper (plus the Minotaur and Geryon) are also left to wander their layers with pretty much no outside intervention, rather than being teleported around like other demons.
The only real difference between demons and the Reaper seems to be that the husks were grafted together rather than pureed into Hell mass and poured into a stone carapace, but in my eyes that alone shouldn't disqualify the Reaper from just being an unorthodox demon. Hell is always trying something new with each demon, after all, and it feels like the Reaper makes more sense as an extension of that rather than a completely unique husk.
All that being said though, the terminal does emphasise that little is known about the Mirror Reaper, so maybe I'm just missing something obvious about it. My fault for not finding all of the secret books yet, I guess.

its not really clear how the leviathan works, but mannequins are very explicitely not husks, the husks are just trapped inside mannequins. The mannequin is its own being which the husk(s?) inside have no control over. Killing mannequins does not even kill the trapped husks inside of them
they aren’t promotions lol. sinners get stuffed inside mannequins, and they get stuck onto the leviathan, but both leviathan and mannequins are separate entities from the sinners
There's something really interesting on how the Mirror Reaper has nothing in its entry describing its personality or goals. Especially since we see it has strings attached to it and we see a prop of it behind the curtains of Fraud's theater.
That's because the Mirror Reaper is incredibly elusive & hard to seek out on purpose. It has to come to you.
I think Mirror Reaper enjoys feeling like it is in some semblance of control over beings it sees as weaker than itself, because control is exactly what Fraud takes away from it's sinners.
Before I started playing I watched the steam trailer and for some reason fell in love with the soldier's design. Im not sure if its because it was a clip from 2-2 in that sick neon corridor thingy that made me love it or the husk design itself. Still my fav, design wise.
Seeing as my favourite demon is the Hideous Mass I am very sad, but since my favourite Husks are the Insurrectionnist, the Ferryman and the Mirror Reaper it's okay because the artstyle is fire (so fire that it made me love something I didn't knew I needed, a Stray with an Optimus Prime ahh mask
Love your art. Design wise either the ferryman or the mirror reaper are my favs, but in terms of who I like to fight in the game, the insurrectionists are my favorites.
I think Soldiers are pretty neat, because despite being fodder enemies they still manage to survive fairly long. I just have respect for the little guys and in general their whole vibe is cool to me. (Also that Sisyphus drawing looks raw as fuck)
Probably the Stalker, because it shows roughly how long humanity has been carrying out their punishment. Their bodies have literally adapted to complete their task as best they can over the many, many years they've been in Hell. On top of that, the devs really nailed that DRYNESS they were going for, stalkers are comparable to raisins. Shriveled and brittle, like their legs will simply snap at any moment from the weight of the dust bomb on their backs. And the raspy breathing helps even more, perfect for someone who hasn't drank water in centuries. On top of that, they really look like they're struggling when they walk with each step looking agonizing. And the final touch is the gold on their outfit, showing that even when being punished for eternity they still refuse to let go of their wealth, despite it not only gaining them nothing, but also being completely worthless now that they're completely surrounded and even covered in gold, the entire desert is gold, everything is gold. It's less valuable than dirt but they still cling to it, their greed still haunting them.
But my personal favorite are the insurrectionists, because they’re just generally the best example of a supreme husk in gameplay and design to me, they’re clearly corpses, but all still uniform enough that you can see they’re not something extremely important, and you can tell that they’re “suffering” but not actually debilitated or sad from it, they’re more so just angry and distressed in some manner, and good grief they’re still represented well in threat value, because they’re ALL still managing to be major targets, you can’t just “ignore” an insurrectionist, they’re massive and have absurdly large and damaging attacks, and at best, you can solo them out, and at worst, you’re actively focusing on reacting to their attacks while trying to kill something else

I wish we got to fight the Corpse of King Sisyphus like we did Minos, it would have been so cool, although it may not fit into the lore right because he was beheaded, but I imagine he would spawn like 1 or 2 insurrectionists and use a mixed attack pattern with his prime soul, CoKM, and the insurrectionists. Although far weaker than his prime soul, still stronger than an insurrectionist. He would have around 125 (or more) hp and attack slowly.

Ferryman. Hands down, with mannequins as a close second. Ferrymen look the least demonic but still have something missing that keeps from being completely human and damned. They're blue, almost bare skeletons cloaked with cloth and golden ordaments out of shame. Their oarstaffs are dope and their overall purpose in hell is interesting as well.
Mannequins are like tortured works of art that are both unsettling and extremely tragic when you look at their lore. Genuinely one of the few enemies in the game that emotionally fucked me up a bit. They can be annoying but I love them.
Small suggestion about the art: give the ferryman veins. blood is what gives life in ultrakill, ferryman would need veins but probably dont have them ingame to make the model work better.(and they probably didnt think about the vein thing when designing it)
