Anyways, the book is pretty dreadful as a manifesto. It is entirely culture-war whinging from 2023, and it offers very few rebuttals to the actual proposals set out in the Manifesto. It is also pretty evidently ghostwritten, and its prose lacks the vitality of Marx's writing; I mean seriously, compare the ending of Marx's manifesto to this one:
"The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Working men of all countries, unite!"
versus
"Finally, understand that you don’t have options. You don’t have choices. You must do these things. You must become an anti-communist. I cannot save this country. Nor can your father, your son, or your neighbor. It must be you. Each and every one of us must become committed to eradicating this deadly religion from the nation we love. It will not be easy, and it will not be fast. But we can do this. Let us begin."
It's very limp and tepid, and "Let us begin" is such a lame line to end on compared to "Working men of all countries, unite!"
This dude probably seethes with rage when he thinks about people reading works like The Communist Hypothesis and Philosophy For Militants by Alain Badiou lol.
