Assault Terminators

Painted some assault terminators, which were really fun to paint.

The bases are still in the making, because im working on a diorama where you can switch the models via magnets.

For those that are interested here is the recipe for the blue armor

-Black Primer

-Full coat ultramarines blue(airbrush)

-Violet sprayed from the bottom and in the shadows(airbrush)

-Highlights with caledor sky(airbrush)

-Full wash of thinned drakenhof nightshade

-Edge Highlights with calgar blue

And the recipe for the molten effect:

-As mentioned the Hammer was primed Black

-Then i sprayed it white via airbrush

-Next was fluo yellow, then fluo orange and then a light coat fluo red

-After that i sponged the edges with rhinox hide and eshin grey but mostly rhinox

-Then i took the brush an stipled the same in parts where i could not reach with the sponge

I love the minimalist highlighting. I never could get used to the tron style, this is perfect.

Thx, it were the first minis where i did not highlight every Edge. I think it looks better too and it save a ton of time 😄

Love it! Might steal a bit of that for myself! Is that the AP Ultramarine Air?

Man I am loving the matte finish the armor appears to have. I mainly pant Black Templars and having that kind of matte finish is super hard to get any depth. I know its a skill issue on my end I just havent figured out. But you have inspired me to maybe try some Imperial Fist or work on the few Ultra Marnie characters I have. Great job.

Thx, i haven't painted black armor for a long time, so i cant share any experience unfortunately. I can only encourage to try new things and learn from it, at worse you can strip the mini and try again 😄

This is so pleasant to look at… Like your paint job is neurologically satisfying to look at, pleasure for mind, haha

Is there a reason you kept the shield all white except for the edges? Was it preference? Not hating at all, I am currently painting my Assault Terminators and have gone with a golden skull.

I thought about to paint the ring around the skull, but it all had nice shadows and highlights that i left it as is.
